Anyone seeing the I Know What You Did Last Summer soft reboot this weekend?

It's getting absolutely blasted by critics, saying it's trying to ape the new direction the Scream franchise went in. However, it was always an inferior product to Scream and was obviously created to ride its coat tails when the original franchises started up in the mid-90s.
I'm probably going to go see it because of Madelyn Cline. Her character's likely going to end up as fish food but she's nice to look at on screen all the same. Also, slashers are a guilty pleasure of mine.

I don't know why we put unrealistic expectations on celebrity women to remain fit and attractive as they age. Some can because they have good genes, but most can't. Jennifer Love Hewitt is 46 years old. At least she's naturally aging and hasn't gotten plastic surgery that makes her look like she was just released from Dachau concentration camp (see Kate Beckinsale).

Is it considered a soft reboot? I figured it was a sequel since some of the characters from the OG are in this one too.

I Know What You Did Last Summer was never a good movie IMO. Urban Legend was the far superior Scream ripoff/ 90s slasher with a way better gimmick.

I would still tap that without a moments hesitation.

I will next week, but I wouldn’t if I didn’t have AMC pass.

Well, that’s a word you could use I guess.

Also, comparing a 46 year old to her body when she was 18-20 is fricking wild. Especially when she’s had multiple kids.
Part of it is the fit of the dress as well. She’s a perfectly healthy woman. The incels really out themselves over this one.

Are we simply going to remake/reboot every horror movie ever done that had any semblance of success? Nearly all successful ones have already been remade/rebooted already. What's left?
