Sounds like the job was a thankless task. Pretty amusing that the two people seemingly next in line for the job immediately said they didn't want the promotion.

Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte proposed the removal around 10 p.m. Tuesday to a small crowd of people at the board's latest meeting.
Small crowd at 10 PM. Sounds like typical Livingston politics.

Pretty telling that the next two people in line aren't even remotely interested, even though the promotion would include a, nearly, 3X pay increase.
$111.9k/ year with 3 weeks paid vacation isn't OT money but it is better than most parish jobs I would think...
Maybe the Parish President has a niece or nephew looking for a job...

No, there was actually a decent crowd of Library supports out there but Delatte said they were going to go into executive committee and not vote on anything so many folks left. It was a bait and switch.....THAT is typical Livingston Parish politics.

Being a director sucks. Generally only guaranteed a job for as long as the mayor (or parish president) is in office.

Livingston Parish is a mess. This story is a direct representation of how the local government has always conducted work. Blow things up, just to blow things up. Its the livingston parish way. Always has been.
Trashy people are trashy....why would this even make the news?

Yep and actively spinning its wheels in quicksand.

You really are invested in books that teach little boys how to perform fellatio on each other.
Then again, I don’t find that to be very surprising.
