Way to go committee. No need to play P4 teams when SOS doesn’t matter.

I think some of this is getting things set up for the inevitable BIG-SEC scheduling agreement as well.

They are at least a team in a P4 conference unlike Kennesaw State (C-USA) and Austin Peay (United Athletic). This was the same Indiana team who last year snuck into the CFP with one of the worst schedules a P4 team had played in modern memory.

P4 is miles better than the replacements. It might be getting set for the addition of SEC games but the optics of it after last year sure looks like “just win and you’re in, regardless of who you actually beat.”

Let’s not act like Indiana is going 7-2 or better in B10 every year anyways.

With that schedule they’d get left out at 10-2 anyways just like Miami did last year

Maybe Kennesaw and Austin Peay are dogshit to us, but they could have knocked off some old Indiana teams… just because you make an expanded playoff once doesnt mean you stop being who you are

The gap between the P4 teams and G5 teams will just continue to widen

They are only paying AP $400,000? That seems like a steal now a days. Most teams want around a million.

The only way to fight against this is to increase the number of conference games and reduce OOC.

If teams are going to schedule garbage OOC, may as well just force additional conference games, instead.

Conferences are getting too big and theres higher likelihood of teams avoiding the other good teams in conference scheduling (Indiana in 2024).

But midlevel teams who won’t make the playoff want to get bowl eligible, and extra conference losses won’t help that

I mean Indiana was 11-1 of course they were getting into the playoff and they weren't even on the bubble really. The B1G was likely the best P4 conference top to bottom last season and they beat the crap out of teams in conference.

The B1G has 9 conference games so they already play 9 P4 teams. Bama in 2024 played just as many P4 schools as Indiana did. Bama just happened to lose to 2 average teams and one good team

1. Indiana should have been on the bubble last year. The amount of teams at the top of their conference they skipped is crazy. They weren’t beating the middle of the big 10 either, it was the bottom 3rd.

2. Big 10 was the best at the top last year, not top to bottom.

In their defense, they did beat the previous season's National Champ (Michigan) and runner up (Washington). So, strictly on paper, having last year's National Champion and runner up, coupled with this year's NC (Ohio State) and runner up (Notre Dame) is pretty decent. It's not their fault that Michigan and Washington had down years.

Actually, Indiana needs to play some better competition to have a better chance in playoffs.
