Ashton Larson should be able to see now that his spot is there for the OF

No point in transferring now

Nah he’s soft. Let him walk.

What makes him soft? He opened up his options if things don’t fall his way? That’s called smart. Now that things are a little more clearer, he has a big decision to make if Jay welcomes him back.

The same 3 guys that beat him out will be back next year

You think Stanfield coming back?

Frey, Jones and Pearson leaving vacates 26% of the teams' at bats from 2025.
If Stanfield leaves, that goes up to 35%.

You know something or guessing?

Talk was that Larson may go to 1B

His name is Ashton for Christ sake

It is 50/50
I hope he gets drafted, but I also would like to see him back. I felt the same way for Frey. I hated to see him get drafted, while at the same time I was happy for him

Why is this just now a talking point? Were expecting Frey to come back? If he wasn’t guaranteed a spot last year, I’m not sure why he’d be guaranteed a spot this year. And that’s basically what he needs.

No but you never know what an antsy junior wanting a guaranteed spot is thinking/wanting to know for sure

He doesn't want DH. So it would have to be either 1B or OF

I'd much rather him bulk up and play 1B

I have never figured out the impression we're given that Stanfield will not be back. There is no real explanation as why it seems to be a given that Stanfield will be gone and Curiel with be the CF next year. If they feel Curiel will be a better CF, that's fine, but it is presented as if this will happen because Stanfield will be gone.

Usually juniors are gone because their leverage will soon be gone. Yes, NIL has now opened some opportunities to stay that weren't really viable in the past.

I think you missed the interview of Jay when he said once you go in the portal, you’re gone. You’re not welcomed back. He said he made one exception in advance for Mic Paul, but that was it.
Once your name goes in the portal, you are gone from LSU Baseball.
