If you told me Frey would get drafted before Bear at the end of ‘24 season…

I would have thought you were crazy.

Good luck to the kid.

The hard work and patience pays off.

I just said the same thing. Crazy

Maybe The Bear decided to come back and told the other teams not to worry about it

I’m proud of all the guys but the draft is hurting us for next year.

Not really. The only real surprise so far was how Eyanson fell.

Shores and Frey were never coming back. Many of the highschool players taken so far weren't really expected to make it to campus.

Dean Moss is the surprise based on some of the talking heads saying they thought we had a good shot of getting him to campus.

Vandy and Tennessee lost more commits than we did. Every SEC school lost their highly rated SS commits. Apparently SS is a huge need in this years draft.

Not really. None of the guys selected tonight were really expected to be here next season. At least not by anyone with reasonable expectations.

It’s also possible teams have other needs but fill them with HS SSs.

Bear was one of our worse batters on the back end of the season. Yes, he had some major clutch hits but overall he struck out way too much. His timely hitting made up for his awful at bats so many people forget about.

I would take Frey before Jones in a heartbeat. Frey is a heck of a lot better hitter....aka he doesn't strike out nearly as much as Jones does. Jones did play a position this season and actually turned out to be a pretty darn good 1B. But if he can't solve the low slider pitch, he will never do squat in the major leagues. As I've said before, he a right handed hitting Joey Gallo...NOT a compliment.

Frey is a all a round great athlete. Big, powerful, and can run fast.

What position will he play in Pro ball?

Good luck to him!

Pitchers who could hit the low and away zone did him in. Especially with sliders.

He kept his stance, his load and never adjusted. I think he’ll figure it out. He’ll have to.

Remember how Jay was an idiot for starting him and the “not sure what Jay sees in Frey” narrative was all over the board during the season?
