Why are some people so triggered when they hear cursing?

Like a simple video of someone cursing just sets them off. They cringe and can’t stand it. Why are people like this?

Because I never curse IRL unless it is around lifelong friends - unacceptable behavior for strangers and family members around Young Grumpy unless we are fixing to square up and shoot a fair one...

It’s just unpleasant and unnecessary if overdone.

Only time it triggers me is in public when children are around.

I pretty much only curse around adult men

Whenever I drop a frick or slur around a woman/women I always feel shame and regret

I more so meant like just hearing cursing not doing it yourself.

For example some people can’t even hear it without getting all mad.

When I hear people cuss in front of children that’s where I cross the line

I am that way. Once again, such behavior is unacceptable from strangers. Them's fightin' words...

Because it is low class.

When someone curses, my estimation of them automatically goes down.

For personal example … for my mom being in room or nearby room when Sopranos was on back in the day…

Cursing was 9.9/10 worst thing on the show

Sex scenes and nudity was close 9.6/10

Murder was 2/10. Basically didn’t even register.

That was always wild for me to process. She can’t handle cursing, specifically F-bombs. That was much worse than murder.
