LIV Reapplies for OWGR Recognition

LIV has reapplied as of June 30th for OWGR recognition. Annual OWGR board meeting is next week at The Open.
ESPN article on it below:

Will be interesting to see if they get approved this time. If I was wagering, I'd guess they do. Don't think they'd be reapplying unless they had indications they would be.
They've made some changes since last application and the PGA has made changes as well:
-LIV does have relegation/promotion path now and rumors are that will be expanded to include ALL players being eligible to be dropped based on standings
-While no cut, PGA has added a bunch of no-cut events since LIVs last application, and OWGR awards points still for those
-The Open and US Open have both now codified path ways for the LIV players to qualify into their tournaments directly and the Masters/PGA Chanmpionship have extended invitations to those players that they deemed quality enough
All told, I am guessing this will be approved. Probably will be some stipulaitons that the points awarded are reduced to equate to field size, and possibly even that LIV opens up spots tournament to tournament for more "wild cards" to qualify.
I think the most drastic, but could see it, would be LIV moving to 72 holes. I've personally thought they should. Play the Thursday-Saturday just as they do now, with the Individual Champion crowned on Saturday. Then have the Team Champion Crowned on Sunday. Everyone's scores still count all 4 days. Everyone plays 72 holes, and they can put focus on the Individual and Team Champions on Saturday and Sunday.
Could flip/flop it if you wanted to Team Saturday/Individual Sunday, but think it works better the other way.

I hope they're turned down.

I dont see how they could ever get recognition.
They dont play tournaments, its just an outing.
Its the same as me, you, and Pride going out for 18 and filming it.
Its just people playing golf on a course thats filmed.

That sounds terrible.

If OWGR caves on this, they will lose a ton of credibility. Only way they get this approved, is if the right people got a lot of money to give LIV OWGR standing.

LIV ought to invite a local foursome from each club they play to be a team in the field.
Somehow I think Rahm and Sergio, or Bryson and his group could beat the four best players at any club.

They should get it. Their fields are stronger than all dp world events and a decent amount of non signature PGA events.

a field to what?
there isn't a tournament happening.

At best they should get prorated points based on the number of holes they play. Playing 54 is not the same as a 72 hole PGA tournament and shouldn’t count the same.
I can’t wait to see how much money Bryson gets to stay over there. If he goes that league is completely shot, and it’s already on life support as it is. They may pony up a billion dollars.

It's very interesting that all the PGA Tour has tried to do the past 2-3 years is mimick a Tour that you claim isn't a tour. And if they hadn't done that, they would've lost even more players.
They will be getting world ranking points. Cope. LIV is 4 years old at this point. You anti liv guys remind me of the people that wear masks in 2025.
Y'all act like Nick Dunlap isn't shooting 85 in every major and PGA signature event. Lot of bad golf going on, on the PGA tour as well.

Its a get together for golfers being paid by the Saudi's to play golf on a random course.

Exactly. I'm not sure who he's trying to convince, us or himself.
It's almost like he doesn't realize we all know LIV keeps score and rewards the player and team with the lowest score.

And he doesn’t get points or a check. See how that works?
Also I think he had a top 10 last week?
