It will be interesting to see how Corey Brewer does coaching summer league.

We know he’s solid at working with the players and that side of things as you’d expect from a recently retired veteran but I’ll be interested to see how he does with the Xs and Os as much as he can in summer ball at least. He has to be better than Willie at least. You can fit Willie’s entire offensive philosophy and rotation schedules on a Post-it note.

I doubt it happens, but would be interesting if somehow there becomes a Brewer uproar. He is very popular with the players, and I’ve loved everything I’ve ever heard him discuss when it comes to basketball.

He’s definitely not your prototypical head coach, but hey, we aren’t a prototypical team.

Injuries and malaise beat the shite out of us so quickly that I barely watched any games last season (despite paying the ~$100 for the Pels TV package). I was actually a bit excited to watch Frears/Queen/Missi, but of course we get stuck with a 2:30PM tipoff.

They were desperate to bring back Borrego for a reason. He will be the guy to get promoted if Willie is fired. No one else

Well Brewer has a roster to really show his coaching and scheming chops.

I figure Fears, Reeves, Peavy, Queen, and Missi will start and that's a hell of a balanced lineup. Rim pressure with Fears, elite shooting with Reeves, 3 and d wing with Peavy, offensive hub with Queen, and vertical threat with Missi. And that's really good size and length up front.

Definitely more interesting with Brewer than Aaron Miles and Casey Hill the past couple of years. Even though Miles had little to work with, it was really hard to watch last season and the offense they ran were clunky as hell.

Oh I agree, and I love Borrego’s scheme and coaching ability personally. Just wish they would stick to it

He seems super excited to get the opportunity.

I'm still pissed the pels lost Fred Vinson

I agree with the talent and balanced lineup. Would rather Reeves start at backup PG considering our next (2) best prospects are both SG's and Reeves would probably be a better option to run the offense and maximize skills sets.

Anyone from the A squad could get minutes this year depending on how they play and how the season goes:

You have (7) of these (9) players that could "make the roster"

Fears/ Reeves
T Alexander/ Quiñones
Peavy
Queen/ Brooks
Missi/ Dickinson

B squad just exists at this moment.

AJ Hoggard
Chase Hunter
Townsend/ Tytan
Shumate
Will Baker

I like Townsend from the B squad but if Peavy shows out then I doubt we waste a 2-way on a SF journeyman.

I hope Missi goes off today so they sit him the rest of the time and play the young bigs. We know Missi is the starter day 1 already. I want to see many minutes if Queen at both the 4 and 5.

I really want to see Missi go against Hansen Yang and Thomas Sorber. They are a good test to see where he is.

We know Missi can play and he’s clearly been in the gym. He looks like he’s put a solid 10-15 lbs on his frame and at least in practice he actually looks like he has a decent 3 point jump-shot (of course we know he will never take one in a game). I think Missi can have a 14&10 year with improved rim protection with a year of starting helping him develop. He’s quickly becoming one of the leagues best young big men.
