AI are starting to take hold of 'Entry Level Jobs'

Majoring in nonsense has consequences

Serious question..what are people supposed to do for work? AI is and will continue reducing the headcount needs for every industry. I don't even know what I will tell my kids to study in the future.

This is bullshite in my experience. It keeps getting written by a bunch of Big J’s, but there’s no actual evidence of it.
My industry is one where this is supposedly happening, but in reality, there’s been much less turnover rate than expected and executives are being cautious with hiring over economic uncertainty. AI has taken exactly 0 jobs as of today in my experience

Lazy response without even knowing the guy in the story majored in mechanical engineering. This isn't just impacting people who studied psychology or some other liberal arts degree

AI already has experience, whereas, new grads don't have the 3-4 year experience for entry level jobs

Eat me
ETA I know people that graduated from accredited programs that never ended up working a single day as an engineer because they frankly had no business being given the degree. Nice guys but absolutely stupid when it came to coursework. A piece of paper alone does not entitle you to a job.

Still have a construction worker shortage.

I was about to say same with my industry but then I saw who posted lol. Same industry.
Yeah there’s just less than normal turnover the past 3 years.

The “go to” response for anyone younger than Gen X.

Look who doesn't have the intellectual curiosity to even watch the video before opining.

White collar jobs are gonna start disappearing at a rapid rate.

AI? More like outsourcing entry level work to India or Malaysia for peanuts. There is no value in training new graduates when they are going to leave by the time they become competent at their job.

Many white collar jobs require nuanced decision making based on a specific set of facts.
Many blue collar jobs are process oriented and are generally the same thing over and over again
Which one do you think is easier to automate?

Save money and learn a trade.

You not watching the video aside, not everyone is capable of some kind of advanced degree. The reality is that AI is siloing people into smaller job opportunities.
China is fighting self-driving cars because the majority of young men use that for their living. Leave young men without a job and a direction, you get violence, angst, and rebellion.

No way you could be wrong with all your experience.
