ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are offering fans a unique travel experience for this year's Monday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

From an official press release:

“In recent years, the number of Cardinals fans who travel to support the team at road games has increased exponentially,” said Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill.

“To meet that clear demand, we are introducing Cardinals Premier Travel, which will offer fans an unprecedented opportunity to travel to games in comfort, style and convenience, just like the team.”

There's three different tiers of packages available for travel, which begins at $2,500 and includes the following:

· Round-trip private, air transportation aboard a wide-body Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, identically equipped and configured as the Cardinals plane used by the team’s players and coaches

Two-night hotel accommodations at either the Marriott Dallas Uptown or Renaissance Dallas

Convenient, in-city transportation

· Welcome reception hosted by Cardinals legends & team executives

· Pre-game tailgate experience at stadium

· Game ticket options that include lower-level seats, club tickets or all-inclusive suite experience game tickets

· Immediate return to Phoenix after the game

· Gift bags, Cardinals merchandise and much, much more

Price aside, it would be fun to experience something like this with everything taken care of for you.

More teams need to offer that.

I assumed game tickets would be included for the $2500 but that really is not a bad deal

This sounds amazing but this is breaking news that the Arizona Cardinals have fans that would actually travel to an away game.

shite you may spend $2500 without all of that trying to do a road trip yourself.

Great deal. I imagine the price for this will escalate quickly.

A victory would make the trip even sweeter. The Cardinals have won seven of their last eight games against the Cowboys, including their last three trips to Jerry World.

From what, 3 to 8?

Out of curiosity, priced a la carte for those 3 days:
- Round trip ticket $200 (loads of American flights, it’s a heavily travelled route in general)
- Hotel $600 (current pricing for those 2 nights at the Renaissance)
- Seats in the 100s $400-800 (liable to be considerably cheaper by November if the teams suck as they should)

Is shuttle transportation, a welcome reception, a pregame “experience”, and gift bag worth a $900-1200 convenience fee? That’s just for the lowest tier

And THEN you have to watch the Cardinals AND the Cowboys

There can’t be that many masochistic wealthy people in the Phoenix metro who can’t math, can there?

But you're flying a charter flight, rather than going through the usual airport hassle. That's worth a premium over regular ticket prices

The team flies out of PHX, so you’re still making that journey

While PHX is a busy airport as a connection hub, there’s not many locals who have to get through security

Almost everyone who is traveling on a $2500/person trip has CLEAR or pre-check. From personal experience having flown through 10+ times, can’t recall a wait longer than 20 minutes even at peak

Almost everyone who is traveling on a $2500/person trip is going to have or be traveling with someone with lounge access (to start drinking and to get away from the plebes)

You’re still getting to the airport early even if it’s chartered

Since your plane isn’t on as strict a timetable as a commercial flight, it may take longer to take off. You’ll just be sitting on a slightly comfier plane with less riff raff

Unless the plane includes hookers and blow I’m struggling to find any value in that premium. Plus the Cardinals are so inept as an organization it’s not completely out of the question that someone would screw up your booking

The only market for this in the Phoenix metro is empty nest couples who have more money than they’ll ever spend and nothing better to do with their time

I did a trip to a Bama-arky game where we flew a chartered flight to the game and flew home after. Even had a arkansas trooper escort to and from the airport. It was expensive but worth it to wake up in bham and be back in town at 5pm.

Between gas and hotel it wasn't equal but close enough to be worth it.

People enjoy different things, but this doesn't sound appealing to me. I like going on road trips to experience the town and do new things. The game is usually the least memorable part of the trip. The charter thing would be cool if I didn't leave immediately after.

For the Cardinals thing, though, I would be all for leave right after. I wouldn't need to hang around Arlington.

It's not a bad deal if ticket is included in it. Smart game they're playing.

I see your point but I had been to Arkansas before and had experience with the drive from bham to Fayetteville before corridor x was built. There was nothing fun about it.

Does this cover medical bills when you get stabbed by a Mexican at the Cowboys game?
