Because if the field I'm watching my son play on faces away from the sun, I use it to shield the back of my neck. Leave that field, it gets put back the way it should be, to shield my eyes. The field changes after every match, but I don't walk around like that.

That pic says it all. My first thought was of people, usually males wearing the bill backwards and shading their faces with their hand to keep the sun out their eyes.

I do it when fishing or hauling arse in a golf cart. The reason is so it doesn't fly off. It gets adjusted when the aerodynamics dictate.

I'm far from being concerned about it.
It's more about how utterly ridiculous a person looks wearing the hat backwards shading their eyes from the sun with their hands when the hat has a brim to do just that.
