No gas, just grass and water, and amazing to ride.

It's not fun in the winter when it's raining.

I hate to break it to you, but if you paid the vet, farrier, supplement, boarding, etc. bills you would not feel the same way.

All I can say is if America was explored and founded on horseback, they must have had lots of spares.

This is coming from a horse owner.

I section hiked part of the AT in the rain, along with two women none of us complained. Right gear and the weather isn't an issue.

Cost per mile of ownership is almost certainly higher than most cars except exotics.

What kind of scrawny useless horses are you riding?

Also… they are assholes. Mine is afraid of butterflies sometimes. I’m definitely not trusting him to get me from point a to point b.

Typing with a back so sore I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get out of bed tomorrow, courtesy of the horse. Didn’t fall off, he’s just a jerk.

They aren't scared of butterflies, though.

He’s only scared of butterflies when he’s not getting his way.

It is a fake fear.

Trusted my life with one in the Spanish Peaks of Montana. Caught some nice cutthroat trout in the Spanish lakes. I'll never get on a horse again for a Trek like that. I thought I was going to fall to my death. I trusted that horse more than I trusted myself dismounting it at that elevation. Was a fun trip but holy back hurting

I've had bad luck with horses so its gonna be a no for me dawg.

As a kid I was a baby and my mom was holding me and she was from out of country and never seen a horse or cow for that matter. Was at a friends house and mom walked up to a horse to pet it, and it kicked the shite out of her and me. Then probably in 5th or 6th grade went on vacation and did horseback riding in the smokey mountains and my brothers horse came over to me and bite me in the leg while my horse was eating some grass. Supposedly horses are the midnight basketballers of the ungulates. Even still, I'd like to own a few of them if I could ever get a enough land and money for the upkeep. Maybe if I could own one as a kid and grow it to adult they might not be so bad.

A dead head horse that just walks, then sure. They aren’t all that way. They also have feet that need care.

Because you keep trying to repurpose neurotic thoroughbreds. Give those to fat dressage riders and get yourself a sensible QH.

About 50 - 55 years ago in my life it may not have been perfect, but it was damn fun and the chicks loved it.
