Healthcare cannot be fixed

The entire argument between people who support National Health Care all the way to people who support free market Healthcare is a complete waste of time until you solve the underlying problem
Namely. The idea that every single person has a right to access whatever Healthcare they need. Oh I get it. It sounds callous to say that but suck it up emotional wrecks. It's reality
There is absolutely no such thing as a product of any sort on the planet that has the ability to be supplied to everybody who wants it when they to everybody who wants it when they want it. At any price.
People who think nationalized healthcare solves this problem must be the stupidest people alive. But the reality is even Americans who don't support nationalized Healthcare still individually believe that they and their loved ones all should be able to get whatever Medical Care they need when they need it. It's a complete fantasy.

Government controlled healthcare(nationalized) is a surefire way to frick it up even worse. The only way to fix it is to undo Obama fricking it all to hell.
Trump's bill during his first term to force hospitals to itemize bills was a good start to making sure you know what they're fricking you over on.

What's the underlying problem?

Nothing that requires the labor of others is a basic human right.

Not necessarily, it works in Singapore where I have family, Higher taxes, yes, but zero insurance payments, combined they pay less and get more.

You are missing the point that having billion dollar (for profit) companies acting as a middle man deciding what care you get and driving up prices beyond what the market can bear is the problem. We have no agency. Costs for care are skyrocketing because we are caught in a war between inflated medical costs, because they HAVE to inflate the cost to recover the actual cost vs negotiated rates for insurance payback, and the insurance companies acting as doctors (who in no means are acting on our behalf) questioning if procedures are medically necessary.
This is a shite show that leaves us on the sidelines paying huge sums for care and being denied care when appropriate.
I would support getting insurance out of the business of being a middleman for basic care and inflating costs for even CASH payers and return to a model of insuring for catastrophic life threatening events.

One huge step in the right direction would be to separate catastrophic coverage for major procedures and diseases from coverage to see a primary care doc and get basic medications.
We don’t need auto insurance to get maintenance for cars. Why do we need it for regular doctor appointments?

Obama’s entire legacy is screwing up the health care system for working people.

How did he screw up insurance for independent contractors? We are working people too and greatly benefit from the chance to get an obama plan.

Honestly, it was fricked up before him.

Does Singapore have a history of Government trying to come in to fix something and royally frick it up much worse? Because we do.

Is healthcare in Singapore good or bad?

Pharmaceutical companies shouldn’t be allowed to advertise much like tobacco companies aren’t As a conservative I don’t like saying that but it would actually go a long way.
Private insurance should be for catostrophic events or major illnesses. Call it “Hospitalization Insurance” or something. Any minor illnesses or injuries come out of pocket.
If you can’t afford insurance or to pay the bill for minor illnesses or wellness visits you go to a public hospital or provider. The care will most likely suck. Sucks to be poor. Private hospitals and doctors will not be required nor obligated to treat anyone who can’t pay. If private charities want to set up clinics for the poor then that would be great.

quote:Terrible comparison. The US and Singapore's demographics and relative wealth make any comparisons between the two silly. You simply don't have the population of freeloaders and moochers we do here in SG.
Not necessarily, it works in Singapore

Not speaking from personal experience but I’ve talked to many people who had to get obamacare and said it was a total shitshow and very expensive premiums.
