I saw a podcast yesterday with Scott Ritter and he noted that the Russians are methodically grinding down the Ukrainian military and trying to minimize civilian casualties. He said the kill rate right now is 20 Ukrainians to 1 Russian because the Ukrainians are relying on drone strikes which the Russians have neutralized.

He wouldn't have to manage it. All that has to happen is the removal of the western influence that seeks to use Ukraine as a proxy to provoke Russia.

I doubt Putin feels like a winner. His country has been wounded so badly it will take, at best, a generation to recover. And for what? Their economy is in shambles; their military has been exposed as second rate; and they have lost a significant number of their young men. This last is especially impactful in a country with plummeting birth rates. This has been devastating to Russia and the Russian people. It might spell the demographic end for them. That’s victory? That’s the kind of victory Napoleon had when he conquered Moscow; a pyrrhic victory that spelled his doom.
