Listening to the podcast last season made it seem like Druckmann wasnt as involved as s1. At least he wasnt on set as much.

Neil Druckmann is a Left wing zealot who went out of his way to ruin a very popular gaming IP simply to promote lunatic messaging.
And when fans clearly made their views made on how bad TLOU2 was as a game, Druckmann double downed and called everyone an 'ist and a 'phobe' for not gobbling up the new story line as if ..well, you can figure it out.
I'd post vids that explain further, but some here might get triggered.

Seems like the word you may have been looking for was defended his choices in TLOU after a small segment of fans attacked them.
Attack would imply he initiated it.

LOU1 Druck was 50% of the creative team. Druck supposedly always wanted to kill off major characters, and make muscle mommies. Even wanted to kill off the main chick in Uncharted 4 The other guy always tempered his impulses. . .forgot baldy's name.
