If you had to choose between the Smoky Mountains or the Rocky Mountains to live in or near, which would you choose?
Basically, which do you feel is better all around when you take everything into account?

Tennessee no income tax is certainly alluring, but nothing beats the Rocky Mountains. And if you like by Denver or Salt Lake City, you get the big-city amenities, as well.

Smoky... just bc it's closer to Tiger Stadium

If going more rural is an option Rockies all day. If I have to be near/in a city than Smokies (minus Asheville)

Rockies, already live near the Smokies.

Rockies have better skiing.

You sir, are correct! We just got back from a trip to the Smokies and the heat was giving Louisiana a run for its money. It was in the 90’s every day we were there and the heat index was into the 100’s.

Are you seriously asking if the Smokies are comparable to the Rockies.
They're not.
They're not.

Every time I’ve gone to the Rockies I did not want to come home.
Last trip was to Estes Park and hiking in the RMNP was one of the most amazing experiences I ever had. Wish I was there now

I am fortunate to have done both. I grew up in the Rockies, but live near the Smokies now in TN.
I prefer living in TN, however nothing beats the views of the Rockies.

I’d rather live near the Smokies. The Rockies winters would be tough

Smokies, Shenandoah, and other east coast parks are overrun by Yanks. I'd rather deal with the mountain hippies in CO.

Smokies. Less California trash

Unfortunately the libs have ruined the Rockies.

Whichever place has fewer woke people, so probably the Smokies.

The Rockies are more than Denver or even Colorado.
