I know the initial thought it to laugh at Tenn, but this could happen to any team and it's more of an indictment on the state of college sports until it (hopefully) gets fixed.

Yep, and I hate it. A coworker and I were talking about the portal era of college sports this morning. It sucks, but you have to use it because everyone else is.
That said, I am thankful for the guys we got in the portal.

1 big contributor, a handful of guys with more appearances than innings, and a crapload of redshirts that never saw the mound in one or two years on campus.
It might be 20 guys, but if you take out Loy it’s probably 30 innings.

It's great that it's happening to Tennessee, but with only 36 roster spots, you are not going to be able to carry as many pitchers as they had. You will also have to be damn certain the ones you do have can be productive for you. It was bound to happen to them.
