He was the one with a mole, beard, and funny hat.

He’s the one on a 5 dollar bill.

Corporate lawyer who served the interests of the Railroad moguls. Did not like Black people, gets false credit for freeing slaves, responsible for the deaths of 600,000+ Americans. Trashed the Constitution and set the stage for the largest government in human history.

ETA;: The original progressive. Was against slavery, but was not an abolitionist..

He won his war so the history books say he was on the good side just like everyone else who won.

Lincoln wanted to put black people on boats and send them back to Africa. In fact he did sent 2 boats full back.

He also didn't want to punish the south for the war. is successors wanted to make the south pay as much as possible and actually set the south back decades (or more).

Still, he thought the states could not secede and went out of his way by allowing a war when (at the time) there was nothing saying states couldn't secede.

Dealt an awful hand. Didn’t free a single slave in the United States and was far more milquetoast on the subject than the subsequent history has portrayed.

Also an interesting alternative history discussion if he hadn’t been assassinated vis a vis Reconstruction.

I know, he and his Union soldiers tore a huge hole in the chocolate starfish of Southerners and their Generals.

The US is only what it is because of that decision.
