Since everyone is doing hypotheticals. Who you got? Any and all rules apply for any year. Also sudden death in the finals. How would the bracket go?

91
93
96
97
00
09
23
25

I got the 97 team winning the whole Fin thing. The juggernauts on that team were insane.

Which bats are used in this hypothetical? Does Doug Thompson get the same strike zone he did vs Bama in the NCG?

The ‘97 team had the least amount of success in professional baseball of all the title teams (2025 obviously pending). I think only one player from that team made it to the major leagues, and they was Brandon Larson who didn’t last long after barely hitting over .200 for a brief amount of time.

23 team with -5 would’ve been unreal amount of homers

I would’ve said the same and picked the ‘97 team bc I was 10 yrs old and remembered them being dominant and stacked.
Looking back, I think it was more the home run nostalgia and the most dominant NC game performance that clouded my memory

2023 would be fun to watch as a team with -5 bats, but to pick one individual? Jared Jones swinging that might've decapitated a 3rd baseman

Considering a scientific article came out last year how professional baseball athletes are only getting stronger, faster, and more powerful than ever before I’m going to side with recency. I like 2023 over 2025 talent wise so my final choice would be 2023 as the winner. People forget how good that team was talent wise because the story became Wake Forest in the media but realistically LSU was #1 for the majority of that year and it wasn’t until Chase Shores and Garrett Edwards both got Tommy John that they really fell some because of having to find some different reliable arms in the bullpen in close game situations. Paul Skenes is incredible in the MLB, Crews is going to be an all star he was starting to improve before the injury after a slow start. It’s hard to imagine Tommy white doesn’t find his way to the MLB.

Several other guys on that team are doing well in the minors. Tre Morgan’s on the cusp of MLB.

Best lsu team to lose right before making the finals was the 98 team...

In 1st game lsu beat Auggie 12-10. Lsu hit 8 bombs that day.

Then Auggie sweept LSU. SMH.

He was the only hitter. Kurt Ainsworth was on the team as a freshman.

I don't think the 90's squads would be able to keep up with how hard everyone throws today. It's just a different game as far as pitcher quality. That's assuming this is the first time they face these teams and this level of pitcher.

23 with the trampoline big barrels would be filthy

Also has the pitchers that throw harder and have nasty spin rates

23 vs 09 for the title

I think the championship series would be some combination of either ‘09, ‘23, or ‘25

You mean Mike Gillespie? He was USC's skipper. Augie was at Fullerton until 96 and then Texas.

I remember that 12-10 game. It was a damn HR derby all day. LSU would've clubbed Arizona St for the title just like USC did. 3 straight titles would be damn near impossible to see again.
