If NY puts this lunatic in office over Adams they get what they deserve.. but what most people outside of NY aren’t considering is that this “experiment” that will most certainly go wrong will be a political and fiscal nightmare for any Republican administration in the future.

If this mayor comes in and enacts his radical agenda, NY will see a demographical and fiscal collapse.

At which point the morons still there and the bleeding heart libs around the country will point to the federal gov to bail them out.

Obviously a Republican administration should tell them to pound sand.. but that’s easier said than done in today’s landscape. And most likely some deal will be struck and we will be on the limb for this somehow.

I think it would be wise to start getting ahead of this and telling all New Yorkers now that there will be zero federal dollars to bail out your self induced problems and then repeat that message publicly every quarter.

Agreed. I have stated the same repeatedly. This should be applied to California as well.

Mayors can only do so much, he will still have to get the City Council to vote his way and I don't know how many actually like this guy. A lot of dem politicians are coming out against him

I was reading this morning that up yo 16% of New Yorks population are Jewish, of which a large percentage of are professionals. Investment bankers, lawyers, doctors, etc. If many of those folks leave NY, among others, who will be left to pay taxes amd fund this commies freebies?

How many of those are left at this point?

David Paterson’s residency changes and Covid migration heavily cut the number of high earners who live in NYC or who work in NYC and commute to NJ and CT.

People have been blowing the area for years to avoid high city, county, and state taxes. Doubly so due to Paterson’s changes making you a resident of NYS if you are physically within the state something like 90 days a year, meaning you potentially pay resident rates for two states.

Lifelong democrat, who is leaning more independent these days, but still a democrat. Here for honest and respectful conversation.

Is the agenda radical because it's different? Is it different because it's been muzzled?

A win like this against the establishment is very telling. There was enough buy in to his platform that got him here. I'm not sure if support can be equated to the belief that this would cause a collapse.

Thoughts?

Maybe it's enough of a shock to wake up Jews who vote like shite.

I'm not hopeful.

I do business with NYC Jews who look down on those of us of the Religious conservative branch.

The black population of NYC is declining while the Asian population is rapidly expanding. In addition, the white moderates and conservatives are fleeing for the Sunbelt and being replaced with young whites who are extremely left-wing. Your Staten Island union goombah isn't exactly the same as your Williamsburg barista with a man bun. Sliwa isn't getting any of the black vote and Adams isn't going to get enough of the remaining enclaves of white moderates and conservatives in places like Staten Island and Howard Beach

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mean, it's absolutely stupid any % of an electorate could be so dense, but only 10% voted in the primary. Last time he went up against Eric Adams he didnt even hit 30%. Seems like this guy is being championed and has as much a real chance of winning as Beto O'Rourke
