have you tried asking the supplier where you are buying the tile?

Don't go to the box stores, go to one of the tile specialty shops and ask for recommendations.

They need to take their cut of the install.

If you live in Walker, call Mike Sharp with Stine and he will undoubtedly have a recommendation. Mike runs the contractor services and is a good dude.

don’t buy flooring at Home Depot and then go scrambling for a decent installer unless you are just a masochist. Contact a flooring supplier in your area that carries the product you want and discuss installation with them. Or contact a flooring subcontractor that will furnish and install

Once the floor goes down if it looks like shite your time and funds invested will triple

I would also suggest buying from the installer. They'll likely receive a discount on the tile and charge you the same that you bought it at Home Depot. You're saving negligible amounts of money going to HD if you're saving anything.

It's not an in-house installer. They just contract out to some crackhead. My friend did this through Lowes maybe and it was an absolute nightmare. His day ended with the guys pickup breaking down the road from his house and the installer called him to come help him out on the side of the road.

This was my fear!

Thanks for the advice everyone, I will definitely be looking at local flooring options as opposed to big box stores!

I bought wood look tile from Floor & Decor Saturday. They have a contractor program. I have a guy coming tomorrow to give me an estimate. I'll let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed.

Assuming you are in the Baton Rouge, Walker, Denham Spring area, Moree Pro Flooring Installation LLC. Jason Moree & his wife April. I think they reside in the Denham Springs area. He replaced 100% of the flooring in my house couple years ago, wood-like LVP, plus ceramic tile. He was recommended to me by an interior decorator who I hired for an interior house reno, and I was happy with his work & pricing. He doesn’t have a web page but has a Facebook page under his company name with contact info and lots of photos of his various projects, including my house.

Location? I have a great floor guy. I have a contractor account at Pro Source. Let me know if you need more information. This is in BTR.
