Would someone remind the CC coach this isnt 2016?

He stated that "back in 2016 they were shut out 3-0 by an ace" so this is no different. So they get cocky, boast about the 26 straight games without a loss, and say there is nothing they admire about lsu and this is the coach's response as well. "Well, the odds were against us and they let him pitch 130 pitches". This dude is a tool and joke of a coach. I hope we just shut them out and once we win one of the players puts a finger over their mouth to say "shhh" after the victory. These dudes are all talk about d dont want to accept the results of their shite talk.

The pitch count talk is some sore loser shite I’d expect to see on the SEC Rant, not from the head coach

Agreed. I wasnt shocked though. I was expecting excuses. Growing up playing sports I always loved people that talked shite. I never said anything and just shut them up with my play. When it was all over the excuses came out late crazy.

This jackass would let Kade go 150 to get the win if he had him and he knows it. It's sore loser talk.

Here’s the thing about pitch count, if you hit what he throws, he won’t throw as many. Kade threw 130 pitches because CC couldn’t hit him. “That’s baseball.”

I’m gonna hold off on my smack talk til the end of the game. Lol
Coastal is a damn good opponent and we gotta get our bats going, cocky though.

I just listened to a replay of the press conference
Y’all need to stop trying to be aggrieved by manufacturing conflict. He may very well be a douche but was not at all in that series of comments
quote:he did not say “this is no different”. He was asked about parallel to 2016 and he just said that the game 1 shutout had happened to them before and they were able to regroup which is true
He stated that "back in 2016 they were shut out 3-0 by an ace" so this is no different
quote:also not what he said. He said that the odds were against them going 28-0 to win the CWS which is technically true (but has nothing to do with their opponent). The comment about pitch count was part of his response to a different question about Anderson wher he complimented Anderson and basically said there was nothing they could do about getting to him

I agree. I watched the interview and he basically tipped his hat to Kade and Brasswell. I don’t know how some ppl see it totally different.

Because our fan base is overly emotional.
He complimented the hell out of us.
“We won 26 in a row. Odds were not in our favor to go 28-0 and win this national championship.”
“What’s eerily similar is in 2016 we lost game one 3-0. A left handed pitcher threw a complete game shut out.”
He also complimented Braswell’s play at third in the 9th.
If you want to complain, complain at his pronunciation of Milam like it was Mulan.

Seriously though. It's so damn weird. OP just making stuff up in his head as if many of us didn't watch the press conference.

I don’t think he even watched it to be honest. There is simply no way to interpret the coach’s comments in a negative way if he did

Sure did. And every inning he went out to take the mound he looked better than the previous one.
