I know Jay is still making calls right now. He probably called someone last night after the win.
Seems like a lot of other programs are Landing some guys. And I know we have landed some guys.
Jay said they will be more selective since they believe next year’s team is mostly on the roster already. It will also depend on who leaves and who stays.
Feels like we still need another in fielder to compete. But what we realy need is another catcher and another 1-3 quality arms. Out field seems pretty set.
I know I know focus and enjoy now. But I know Jay is working for next year also. Dude is a maniac.

Dude enjoy the games that are to be played. That is an offseason thing.

It also depends on who is coming in the recruiting class.
I think he is going to start being more selective with both because of roster limitations.

Can't ever have too many stud pitchers.
Depth.
Quality.

You’re right… but the issue is that it is the off season for other programs

I don’t know if anyone caught what he said last night in his post game interview talking about Hernandez. He said we needed character at the position and Luis filled that role for tge team. It almost like a hidden dig at our former catcher at Bama.

So what you are saying is you'd rather be in the offseason looking for transfers than playing for the national championship?

Little Rock pitcher Jackson Wells is transferring to the Arkansas Razorbacks. I wonder if we had any interest, even though most of TD thinks they are above signing him.

Such a weird comment
So OP is wondering about the Portal because it does seem like dudes are committing left and right. And you said he, as a fan he should enjoy the games to be played…on a Thursday night 48 hours prior to the next game
But OP, we picked up Dardar from KSU for 2nd and Brayden Sampson from High Point for 3rd. No idea about competition and what not. Guess we will also know more with the draft. Also, Arrambidie is definitely your catcher next year, and we of course will get a few pitchers.

Good for him. I'm not sure I would say above signing him, but LSU can definitely find equal, if not better, arms than him. Probably made since to go there if he's already in Arkansas and is from Arkansas. He's probably more willing to take a lesser role there than anywhere else.

I wish he would tell more recruiting stories and maybe elaborate more. Love his little tidbits that he sneaks into press conferences from time to time where he talks about he recruited this guy or he made this phone call after the 9th inning . Love hearing it

Exactly. Jay knows what he is doing and when someone goes in the portal that he likes he is well aware.

Yeah, I'm sure playing for our 2nd natty in 3 years and 8th overall is really killing our recruiting.

Does anybody know if lsu is in contact with any pitchers since jj is good at recruiting all year round especially during the playoffs?

Rosters also go to 34 by December. There will be less coming in.

I saw a couple of places where LSU is in on the SS from Cal and a pitcher from Baylor.
Baylor pitcher according to the write up: #LSU Baseball will host Baylor LHP transfer Carson Bailey for a visit on June 25th.
Bailey was a weekend starter for the Bears this season, posting a 4.89 ERA, 56 K’s, and 21 BB’s in 53.1 innings of work.
Bailey is one of the top pitching transfers in the country.
Cal player: #LSU baseball is a contender for star Call transfer SS Jarren Advincula.
Jarren posted a .342 BA, a .916 OPS, 6 homers, and 33 RBIs for the Golden Bears this season. Jarren was also an All-ACC selection.
Jay Johnson and the Tigers will have to beat out the likes of Tennessee and Arkansas to land the star transfer.

Jay already said he was going to be fairly selective in the portal this offseason because a lot of guys from this team are already returning next year.

Is that the freshman lefty with the 4.89 era and 98 mph fb from the left side?
