Here are the cumulative season stats, as of yesterday.

Reaves has 5 errors and an .865 fielding percentage.

Braswell has 3 & .965 in many more chances.

Reaves' batting average doesn't justify subbing him for Bras.

So shut up about it already. Johnson knows what he's doing.

I've been telling people that but all they think about is offense.

agreed, one black hole in the lineup isn't as much of a problem as a black hole on defense.

Nothing justifies batting 189 when he is a senior, surrounded by the best coaches and trainers money can buy. Braswell needs to spend about 10 hours a day in the cages before this weekend. Hope he turns it around because he’s all lsu has right now.

Well he plays vs righties and Braswell vs lefties. It has been like this for weeks, why are people not understanding this.

Reaves hasn’t made an error in like 3 months. Brasswell had 2 groundballs yesterday. Neither saved a run, but his missed bunt and K with 2 in scoring position absolutely cost us at least one run. People want so badly for the kid to succeed and I get it, but he has really realllly hurt this offense. He is a fine defender and Reaves can’t hit lefties so I’m fine with it. But this is why Coastal starting righties is huge for us. Brasswell out plus Brown, our lineup is night and day

I don't think Reaves should start at third as he is a liability in the field, but Reaves is a much better hitter than Brazzy. If he got the same ABs as Brazzy, his % would be much higher.

Reaves makes solid contact most of the time and has been unlucky (liners at people, warning track fly balls, etc.) Brazzy can't even put the ball in play most at bats.

Braswell should have thrown home instead of got for that double play that cost two runs. Hope he turns it around for the championship and has a good series at the plate.

If anyone should be there it's Mikey Ryan... his background is built for high level play under pressure.

Using your logic here. Wouldn't Reaches have many more errors with more opportunities?

These posts are terrible because he has benched Brasswell by starting s platoon. Hence, acknowledging that fielding doesn’t matter as much. Reaves is shite against Lefties so might as well play Brasswell if neither can hit because his defense is better. If a righty pitches then he plays the guy that can actually contribute

That was an easy DP if Jones catches a routine throw from 2nd. If you have 1 out you go to 2nd 100% of the time.

Im good with Brazzy but he has to be able to get bunts down n move runners over...He can't be popping up bunt attempts every time we have base runners.

He does. Just understand that Jay platooned Reaves all though the Regional and Super and Reaves started a game or two and didn’t have any fielding issues.

That said, Braswell is going to start and I don’t think Reaves will play unless we get behind or are tied late and he comes up. In that case, I would bet money we see Braswell hit the bench.

Also, bear in mind that he would have been on the bench last night if we had gone to extras because Baby Pearson PHd in his spot in the bottom of the 9th.

the issue with Braswell began when we had Milam, Jones, and him all slumping. Searching for any offense was legitimate. With Hernandez, Milam, Jones all producing playing Braswell at 3B is a no brainer. One hole in the lineup is manageable.
