How does the OT reconcile with abortion regulation stopping sensible people from having kids?

Seems like heavily regulating abortion would facilitate only unwanted pregnancies being carried to term.

Please discuss.

Your angle is that by restricting abortions, people that want kids are less likely to have kids?

If they want to have kids, why would they want an abortion or why would abortion access matter to them? They want to keep it?

My angle is that people are less likely to have children in a state where if something goes wrong more than 10 weeks in they can’t handle the situation without risking the mother’s life.

Source - We currently won’t have children in this state. When we decide to have kids we will move to a state with more liberal abortion laws in case something goes sideways.

People need an incentive to have children.

Incentivize it and it will increase.

Find a way to decrease cost of living and having kids.

Well… that’s retarded. You know you could just…. Take an extended weekend to California and abort your unwanted child.

Sorry your wife wears the pants in your relationship. Maybe start using logic instead of emotion in your arguments with her.

Or tell her she’s acting like her mother and swap her out for a newer model.

Restricting abortion makes people have more kids; not fewer kids

The whole premise of your thread is illogical and nonsensical. Time to go back to the drawing board.

He's trying to be super duper clever and say abortions are awesome in a way that has never been said before.

Yeah we’re pretty in agreement that we should leave the state if we have children. In fact, I’m probably more adamant than her.

This is actually the logical decision.

I’m just letting you know that it’s not really an argument that you will drive people out of the state with policy like this.

I’m college educated and employed, pay taxes, try to buy locally, etc. by all means keep the population how it is.

90%+ of abortions are for convenience.

That’s it.

The health of the mother is a very, very small number.

That is a stupid reason.

I would argue that you are falling victim to correlation vs causation. Cost is a more obvious explanation, but that doesn't rile up the argument and get you the attention you are looking for.

So you use emotion rather than logic? Sad.

It’s quite literally an emotional one and it’s sad you can’t see that.

No… your argument is legitimately retarded. Like…. Actual true to life retards would actually laugh at your reasoning.

Has nothing to do with your emotional outlook on life.

Sounds like something a selfish Nazi would say.

“ Let’s eliminate you people over there so that there’s more resources available for me. We don’t need any more of you anyway.”

Get rid of your pride and selfishness, and that will help remedy this flawed line of thinking.

Wow, that is a pretty cold statement. If our baby is something we do not want, we will just kill it and start over.

Yes it is.

The percentage of abortions related to that are extremely small, and nearly every state has exceptions listed.

Also, you could travel to any state that allows it and have it done there.

Your position is stupid, and you probably shouldn’t have children.
quote:

Texas abortion law allows abortions only when the pregnant person's life is in danger due to a medical emergency. This means a life-threatening physical condition aggravated by, caused by, or arising from the pregnancy, where there is a serious risk of death or substantial impairment of a major bodily function. There are no exceptions for rape, incest, or fetal abnormalities.
That is for Texas.

Yes. It’s an incredibly selfish view that many leftists have. They have no regard for the inherent value of human life.

So you don’t want to have children and are ascribing your reasons to something other than just not wanting children. Given you’re more “adamant” about it than your wife I predict you have children sooner rather than later.
