He should have pulled shores to start the 9th.

Shores was not throwing bad pitches. Arky was getting some tough hits. I didn’t love the Mayers first pitch, but he was in a tough situation. He shut it down after that.

LSU didn’t have their starters 100% available in 2017 and 2023. Not this time. LSU’s staff is loaded for the championship.

I am one of his biggest defenders on here and love the dude, but I thought he was a little quick pulling Noot. Its all hindsight, but if he leaves Noor in thru 7, Shores likely finishes the game.

But who says Noot doesnt get knocked around at the end of his outing like Shores did??

It’s called a calculated risk…this was not a must win game.

It worked out well. Wish they would have let Shores throw the slider more in the 9th. Mayers did a job after the fact. Overall, pretty good. Cowan still looked good, but I get not wanting to run him through Arkie for a 3rd look.

Every team that has ever won a championship does. What’s your point?

Like Nick Saban says, good teams make their own luck.
Hit to left field was a great well placed slice. Very difficult to catch.
Jones hit was smoked. Not going to catch that in the tip of your glove.
