Seems kinda crazy to Start a War and already run low on air defense after less than a week. Was the plan that Iran was going to surrender quickly?

"Israel is running low on defensive “Arrow” missile interceptors, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed US official.

The shortage has raised concerns about the country’s ability to continue to counter long-range ballistic missiles from Iran, the report said.

A report in The Washington Post Tuesday cited a person briefed on US and Israeli intelligence, who said that, according to “some assessments,” Israel can maintain its air defense for 10-12 days at the current rate of Iranian attacks — which have lessened since the start of the fighting last week — before it will require the US to replenish its stocks or get more involved in the war."

Since Israel launched its shock operation on Friday to remove the “existential threat” of the Iranian nuclear program and ballistic missile capabilities, the Islamic Republic has retaliated by launching more than 370 missiles and hundreds of drones at Israel."

I guess they shouldn’t start a fight with a much bigger well equipped enemy. Should have stuck to bombing civilians in Gaza

Haven't they been using them since starting the incursion in Gaza?

Meanwhile your buddies in Iran can muster up like 10 missiles to lob at a time because they are on E.

If this is the case, then the price of our missiles should have just tripled.

Dynamic pricing

I think they were using mostly the Iron Dome for those rockets. Now the ballistic missiles require Arrow and THAAD systems to be mainly used. The main point being they should have known these numbers before hand so that means they must of been counting on a quick Military operation thinking that Iran would surrender and come to the negotiating table quickly

It is bound to happen, but the headline is partially clickbait. The arrow system is only one part of the defensive system and the US does have the ability to resupply them. The article does not state how long it takes to manufacture these arrow interceptors or if they are in the process of being manufactured now (probably highly classified info).

Also - what are the reserves of Iranian missiles and how many have been destroyed by Israeli Air Force? We do not know that either.

I seriously doubt they’re running low just yet. And even if they are, Iran will likely run out of missiles and drones first.

Seems obvious they've been decimated, whether it's the launch sites or running low on missiles

well duh.... stocks are not unlimited.... and take a long time to replenish (and alot of money)

...but on the flip side, Iran is also runnin gout of Missiles and launchers, as the numbers they are firing have dropped way down.

protracted fighting will be lower tech for both sides..... similar to Ukraine/Russia war....prestocks get depleted then you rely on "dumber" munitions

Iran can make drones faster than missiles so expect to see more of these in the coming weeks...but drones can be intercepted by regular AA systems.....

What do you think of the theory that Iran is firing their old stock to deplete Israel's Air Defense and then will use their newer more powerful ballistic missiles. I have seen that posted alot
