I am in need of a new refrigerator as my Samsung is no longer cooling off. I refuse to buy another Samsung product that is not a TV. Any advice on too refrigerator brands? I would like the water dispenser and an ice maker.
Also any repair people in the Houma area anyone can recommend? Thanks

They all suck honestly. I heard Bosch was decent but they cost more. I have a Samsung and the icemaker breaks once per year. It's cheaper to replace than buying a new fridge but I've researched them. A coworker researched the best fridges and bought a basic white one with no ice maker/water etc. because he was reading everywhere this would last the longest. It broke in a few months. I forget the brand.

Frigidaire was what Napoleon recommended as of a couple years ago iirc.

They all suck. I have a Samsung in the garage that stopped cooling. I bought a Kenmore to replace it and then fixed the Samsung with YouTube. My advice would be to lookup the repairs on YouTube for any specific model you’re looking at. If it’s thin on repairs, must be a decent fridge. There are lots of Samsung repair videos on YouTube

Top freezer fridges are the most robust.
Followed by side by side. Bottom freezer and French door give the most issues.
Regardless of brand.
I always suggest just having a seperate ice maker.
I can't say any fridge is that much better Than the others. I still like to avoid LG and most samsung.
Note most kenmores are now LG not Whirlpool.

That true for all appliances or just refrigerators?

Mostly fridges. Kenmore model numbers all start with 3 numbers then a period. Those three numbers tell you who made it.
110. Is Whirlpool
665. Is LG but they're are tons of possibilities. Frigidare, GE, Maytag and some Chinese brands all make kenmore stuff.

I just bought a GE full depth french door model with a bottom freezer. The water dispenser is inside the refrigerator and the ice maker is in the freezer and drops in a bin so you have to scoop it out. No external dispensers, which is the most common thing to break on modern refrigerators. I've only had it a month, but so far so good. I bought it from Home Depot for around $1200, included delivery, set-up, and removal of the old fridge.

We’ve got a GE side by side in “slate”. Easy to keep clean and has been great for the 10 years we’ve had it so far.
Got it at Lowe’s.

Mine is a Frigidaire pro series. Have had it for 20 years and haven’t had problems, so I would buy another if I had to right now.

I have the Whirlpool in this configuration and it has been a good fridge so far. The dealer I bought from sells Whirlpool, GE and Frigidaire as his entry lines and Bosch for higher end units. He backs and services these brands and has for a long time. I avoid water/ice door dispensers as they routinely break on every brand owned by people I know.

Can't recommend kenmore elite. Our 7 year old that quit making ice 4 years ago now won't freeze. Meanwhile the 1999 Amana keeps on rocking including ice. I throw a new ice maker in it every 3-5 years for cheap.

That's funny. I took my 25 year old Amana and made a beer fridge in the outdoor utility room and replaced it with the Whirpool. The Amana is going strong still....knock on wood.
