And its due to immigration.

London academic has appealed to policymakers and military leaders to consider taking remedial action to minimise the impact of civil wars, which he warns have become a distinct possibility in Western nations.
Professor of War in the Modern World, David Betz of King’s College London, has claimed that many European countries now exhibit signs of being in a pre-civil war state. According to his research, there is a statistically significant chance of a war breaking out in the next five years in a Western state, and given Europe’s interconnected nature, it could spark similar conflicts in neighbouring nations.

the bottom line is I don’t think there is now a political solution to this which takes the form of everything just working out OK after some period of difficulty. Things are bad now, but they are going to get very much worse. Hopefully after they will get better, but you will have to go through the period of very much worse before you get there.
quote:
“I understand what I say is extremely unpleasant”, Betz said, remarking: “I just want to say dear elites, the consequences of your actions have arrived”.

And I say…good. The current paradigm is economically and demographically untenable. The west looks extremely similar to pre-revolutionary France. The only way out of this is war, pestilence, or an economic innovation on par with the invention of electricity. My fear is that these societies are too far gone and that the violent revolution meant to overthrow the tyrannical regimes of the West and expel the invaders will only serve to strengthen the tyrants and destroy the last gasps of the West’s vitality, passion, and innovation.
I fear that economics is making us slaves even faster than the government is.

“Academic” types are the ones who planned this.
A civil war outbreak of violence is the only way they can justify taking guns away. I hope people don’t fall for it.

Not really a civil war just invaders and idiots who will die to support them over their fellow Americans

I don’t think anyone believes that in 2025 America that there could be a peaceful large scale gun confiscation.
It would either be ignored in red states or result in kinetic political violence.

Let me ask. What in your life is so horrible that you would want to take up arms against your fellow Americans?
Are you hungry? Living in famine? Are you in grave danger?
I suspect you are like the rest of us. Slightly overweight, have access to an abundance of food, education and ideas, posting from your $1000 phone in an air conditioned room. You probably have a loving family and hopefully kids that are smart, popular and prepared.
What’s so bad?

We’re supposed to have rebellions every 3 decades to water the tree of liberty.

Still the village idiot I see.
Comprehend what you are reading. It's not that difficult.

If it happens, eat the politicians first, than deal with the invaders and police that were just following orders.

Actually, I’m not overweight anymore. I had to cut my food budget massively to survive, so I’m down over 30lbs in the last year. I will never have a family nor be able to retire. I am dramatically poorer in my quality of life now versus 10 years ago despite promotions and increases in salary because cost of living has dramatically increased faster than my wages.
Most of my younger millennial friends are scraping by with a couple kids and two working spouses, often with one or both having multiple jobs to stay afloat. They live in small starter homes very far from where they work. If they own their home, it’s usually an inherited family home or their parents helped them significantly for the down payment. The rest are living in small cramped apartments. They’re lucky if they go on vacation once a year to gulf shores or some place similarly close by. Every car breakdown, every kid’s doctor visit, and every appliance f$&k up feels like it could collapse the entire house of cards their family relies on. They’re usually not particularly religious, but not antagonistic to people who are. If they go to church, they’re not particularly involved outside of sunday services. They still celebrate the big religious holidays with their families, but their identity isn’t tied to their religion at all. They NEVER discuss politics…EVER unless they’re in the safest place imaginable or nearly blackout drunk. They do this because they’re constantly afraid of losing what little stability they have.
My older millennial friends and gen x friends are largely very successful, with debt or divorce/alimony being their biggest economic concerns. They tend to live in big homes with multiple cars, kids on track to go to college, have camps and boats, etc. They vacation annually to Disney, go international once every couple years, maybe even have a time share or a shared vacation home in the mountains for a ski trip around Christmas or Mardi Gras. Most of them are very involved in their church and enjoy discussing church politics and politics in general. They have no fear because they’re largely insulated from consequences.
My gen Z friends are f$&ked. They all work 2-3 jobs with multiple side hustles just to be broke. They live in apartments or rent houses with a ton of roommates to just afford rent. They almost never eat out unless it’s food at their job (if they’re service industry). They’re crippled by debt. They are lucky if they have any healthcare besides medicaid, which never seems to cover whatever is chronically wrong with them (and they all have something wrong with them that they cannot afford to fix or treat). They barely drink (because they can’t afford it), rarely go out, and have few in person friends their own age. Their entire lives are online, and thus fear isolation from those groups above most other things. They’re not just a-religious, but often hostile towards religion, OR they’re super devout, zero in between. They either talk about nothing but politics or anything but politics, once again, zero in between. Those who do talk politics, only take the most extreme positions possible, and back them with their entire identities and actions. They do this because they have literally nothing to lose.

They just use the immigrants to do that now. That's literally what set off the protests in Ireland.

I have stayed many times. The next Civil War will be racial.

I’m 62, so tail end of the Boomers. When I was in my 30’s we struggled to make ends meet, and I could not afford to take my family on vacations AT ALL. I got richer as I got older. Now I can do whatever the frick I want to. So your description of the different generations did not sound bad at all to me.
You have a point that inflation is hurting people’s prospects. And young people have a reason to be mad at Boomers, but it’s because Boomers did a shitty job raising their children. Not me and my wife, though. All four of our kids are in their 30’s and doing well. They are all on track to a comfortable future. But they were raised to have self-discipline, and they do.

We're nowhere close. The crap that was going on from 1969 -74 was way worse. What's going on now is for weekend hobbiests.

Wars, debt, inflation, hunger, chaos. We're well down that road.
