Who do you believe roasts flavorful dark/medium coffee beans today?

I am a very long time Community Dark Roast coffee drinker. It is probably as much entrenched in the culture I grew up in as the andouille we put in our gumbo, but something about the CC Dark Roast coffee I brew today is just a bit dissimilar to the one I grew up with and significantly more expensive at that, which has cause me to reevaluate and try other coffees as a more permanent replacement.
I’ve lately been brewing some Yellow Truck Dark Roast that I like, and have had some decent alternatives elsewhere, but nothing that just knocks it out of the park so I’m open to ideas of anyone has something to try.

Community Cafe Special is their best roast in my opinion. I also like their Breakfast Blend.

I don't know my coffee prep aside from Mr Coffee and Keurig.
My peeps had a three piece thing, a pot they boiled water in- and a stacking two piece they poured the hot water over. Is that a percolator?
I grew up MS gulf coast... don't believe I've seen CDM in my area of SC
And they'd brew enough to store counter top in a glass orange juice jug to use the rest of the day.

If you grew up on the coast, they had CDM...

River Roads Coffees are local and a good alternative. French Truck, CDM, and other locals are also worth trying.

Yeah.. Biloxi

But in South Carolina, haven't seen that vacuum sealed yellow brick anywhere.

I had been buying community’s cafe special for years and wanted to make a change. I took the recommendation of Steve Bannon on Warpath coffee who advertises on his podcast. He drinks his coffee black and raves about their product Mariner’s Blend Dark Roast and how smooth it is. He has the coffee owner on the show occasionally who is a veteran (Green Beret?). Anyway, it’s fairly expensive ($26 + $11 shipping), but I recently went to Warpath’s website and purchased a 2lb bag of the Warpath’s Mariner’s Blend dark roast (ground) and my wife and I like it so much that I went back to their website and purchased a monthly subscription to have it delivered to the house every 30days. Happy hunting!

Camp coffee FTMFW. Nothing like the smell of it with bacon frying on a wood fire/wood burning stove. Add in the aroma of cathead biscuits cooking in a dutch oven. Can't be beat.

Been getting mine from Texas Coffee Traders. Pretty reasonable for a pound of whole bean and their Vienna roast is medium/dark

Damn straight...
At our camp, I was cooking Wright's Brand maple bacon, and my uncle comes in from outside while weed eating and says, what the hell are you cooking, that shite smells awesome...

We only us a percolator at the camp, with CDM, let that stuff perc for 30 minutes, the grounds look brown, not black.

My wife got a Keurig for the camp so she can have her bullshite coffee drinks. I only use my 50+ yo percolator. I've got like 6 of them in case they ever quit making them.

Coffee percolating in one of those old school percolators always brings back fond and vivid memories of hunting and fishing trips with my grandpa and dad. My great grandparents lived in the house my great great grandparents built when they came over from Czechoslovakia in the late 1870's. When she died in 1993 she was still cooking and making coffee on her woodburning stove when it wasn't too hot.
