And? Sellers get to decide how much shite costs.

Dumb arse states will pass laws over this too. Hey just tell people how much to charge.

That "plus 10% at register" is bullshite... unless 10% is the sales tax.

I don't have a problem with it. I look at the price of everything I buy.

I'm on a very strict budget (doesn't matter how much you make but you do control how much goes out).

If it's too much at that moment, I won't buy it. I think it's smart on their end actually.

They may find however that they could lose money by losing sales.

Very balanced really. I always say let the market decide.

Mizers grocery is like this. However, their claim is you’re getting it at cost or very cheap. And it is for most part. Then they add 10% at the register.

It’s a gimmick that most people don’t see. They just see the cheap item price on the shelf.

Man 10% is too much for local tax (on another note). 7% is my limit for non-necessity items.

I was thinking so too, but some municipalities add their own taxes on top of the state sales tax.

this is old fashioned supply/demand capitalism aided by technology to make it happen in real time.

Sounds like Mac's Fresh, a cost plus 10% grocery store we have here. They add 10 percent to the total cost when you checkout.

The price you saw can go up before you checkout, not counting the extra added 10%.

This actually makes me want to shop at one of these stores. I want to fill my buggy with a bunch of crap then balk after they ring it all up and raise the price at the register. Just say no and walk away.

This is fun and all until you realize you wasted more of your time than theirs

If I get to the register and found out that my bill is going to be 10% higher - I leave and let them put all of my shite back on the shelves

Exactly. The consumer gets a say in real time too. Win/win.

Also consider that if it happens more than once, I go elsewhere and never come back. Capitalism and personal decision at its best

Kroger was in the news for surge pricing last year, they got jealous of car dealers market adjustment. Imagine if they did this during the plandemic?
