Because hippies are leftists... and tribalists who hate conservative "Nazis" and Orange Hitler so much, they will take whatever side their team leaders tell them to take... especially when it is in opposition to Trump and Republicans. I personally had up-close personal views of the the recent big Elon is a Nazi protests... the majority of the protestors were older people, retirement age.

There's a boomer one neighbourhood away from mine who has flown a Ukraine flag for 4 years now. He's also the first I've seen to have a "NO KINGS IN AMERICA" yard placard. Nasty guy. I like doing the Trump handjob dance when he's out and I jog by.
