Decided not to renew. LSU has been emailing me and just got a letter in the mail extending the renewal deadline another 30 days. Hate to give up the seats but I have no faith in the program. Been going for 30 years. My dad bought when the PMAC opened.

I know 2 other ticket holders that aren’t renewing as well. One has 6 tickets

I missed the renewal date but did renew like 3 days after the original date. My kids are almost to the age of enjoying going and I need to teach them how to lose gracefully as well as win gracefully so might as well stick to it.

Why anyone would buy season tickets for basketball is beyond me. You can buy single game tickets for peanuts

You’re going to regret it when we’re good in a few years, and you’re unable to even get season tickets for MBB.

I don't even want to watch them on TV, let alone in person

That’s where I am. In the current environment, I don’t get enough joy from going to a season of games to make it worth the cost. Part of it is solely LSU and their lack of attention to the program in the last few years. They have exhibited a distinct lack of interest in the fan experience. At first my enjoyment still outweighed that aspect. However this past season was a tipping point for me. The on-court performance and lack of urgency in improving took away from my ability to enjoy the games. And I have no evidence that that will significantly improve this year.

The other factor related to this for me is the current NIL landscape. I understand this is mostly out of the control of LSU (or any individual school). However, NIL + the transfer portal means basically a new team every year. When I was at LSU you watched players for 3-4 years and you got to “know” them. It’s different today. There is a disconnect because many players are simply hired guns and don’t care at all about developing a relationship with the community they are playing within. I know part of this factor is “get off my lawn” and “back in my day” but it is a significant factor in what I think is the upcoming decline in all major college sports and it makes me much more likely to sit at home and watch on my tv for most games. As a fan I want to feel some connection with the teams I support and I no longer feel that in a meaningful way with basketball.

Same here.

I think there will be a time the program is good again...just not next year (at least to any significant extent). My tickets are decent, but not in a high demand location where they wouldn't be available next season if I wanted to get them again.

The last few years it's felt more like an "obligation" to attend, rather than something I really looked forward to doing. That, plus the fact anyone can buy a single game season on the secondary market for next to nothing, made the decision easy. I'll still probably attend games this upcoming season. It's just not necessary I spend a few hundred dollars for tickets when I could probably spend around $50 (cumulatively) to attend 7-8 games.

I didn't renew after the Ben Simmons season for pretty much the same reasons. I didn't plan on getting season tickets again. But after hearing Wade's opening press conference I had a sense he would elevate the program, so I decided to buy in while the "stock" was still low. Glad I did. It was a fun 5 years.

That's about where I am with football. My youngest is almost a high school grad and wants to attend LSU, so I'm just holding them until that decision is made. Living in LC, its almost just too easy to watch on TV w friends, and pick 1 game a year to attend.

But even if I lived in BR, I don't think I'd get basketball season tickets anymore.

Depending on your location choice there are very reasonable seats in the PMAC. shite, even if you buy the $100/seat package you can prob make your money back selling those tickets to like Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn home game types.

The only sport my wife of 47 years really likes is LSU MBB and WBB. I have dragged her to LSU Football and LSU Baseball for decades, so the last LSU season tickets we'll give up when we can't go anymore will be MBB.

I will be hopeful CMM can do something with this new group...hopeful, but not any faith.

Oh wow….Shocker! I was told the lack of funds was the only issue and that has been rectified this offseason.

In all seriousness, McMahon has killed this program. There was really no justification for bringing him back after last season so we’re just in the time wasting stage.

You can't be boring AND lose.

The LSU marketing dept has a tough job. There's no optimism to sell and the HC doesn't really want to promote the program (at least in terms of generating interest).

Yep. This season feels like the final seasons of the Johnson and Jones eras. You knew the inevitable conclusion, but fans still had to go through the waste of time to get there.

What percentage of basketball season ticket holders are out of the metro BR area these days? Has to be low.

45-53 overall (.459)
14-40 conference (.259)
1-3 SECT (.250)
0-1 NIT (.000)
0-0 NCCAT

I can see why enthusiasm would be lacking.
