Any SLU fans can give their thoughts on him?

I don't know anything about ULM baseball except that Lou St. Amant is a great man and Chuck Finley is perhaps the 2nd coolest sum bitch behind only Elvis.

He may be the best MLB pitcher to ever come out of Louisiana?

That’s what I thought. Not sure I understand this hire but whatever. I don’t expect anything good to ever come from our athletic department sadly

There are a couple HOFers, Ted Lyon, who I'm not familiar with, and Lee Smith, who was a reliever.

Ron Guidry and Vida Blue would be up there. Aaron Nola as well. Finley is higher than those three on total bWAR, Nola has a better single season than anything Finley did.

No as in Ben Sheets won't be in the conversation for best Louisiana homegrown pitchers?

No as in Sheets should be automatically included in any discussion when it comes to who are the best professional pitchers from Louisiana.

He is not simply in the mix - he is a top contender for sure.
