Their "Pet Sounds" album is Rolling Stones #2 rated album of all time.
The Beach Boys were instrumental in bringing us the "California Sound" in the 60's and influenced so many of the bands that made it big from that era.

Is it because of creating the genre of "california beach music"? I know who they are, and that they were very popular back in the day. Just curious if there is more to it than that. I'm fairly ignorant regarding the group, though i do recognize their presence in pop culture.
