I need to know if I should prepare myself to judge Beian Kelly by year 5 instead

I don't like the Clemson matchup at all.

Until we win an opener, 9 and Kelly maybe. We have 5 tough road games if Vandy is decent again.

Not too sure if you should be judging anyone.

We will go as far as the o line and Joe sloan will take us.

If we can’t run the ball again it will lower our ceiling significantly.

3-4 losses min.

Not a Kelly fan. I just don’t see the mindset with his teams that go after Championships.

Could be wrong but his body of work at ND and so far after 4 in BR tells me this.

Mindset is set by the coach(es) and then instilled in the players.

LSU will handle Clemson. LSU will come out with a high powered passing attack complimented by a good run game. Nuss will run for first downs with a perfected slide. The training wheels are off. It is time to dominate.

The quality of the coach no longer matters as much as the willingness of the talent to perform. Sure you've got some puritans that play the sport, but winning and losing probably doesn't matter to most anymore. They're getting paid for their efforts and I am happy for them. Watching a football game these days is more about what you're cooking, and time spent with friends and family.

Really good. I think people on here are underselling how good we can be. Best roster BK has ever had.

We should be title contenders

Yah Kelly’s teams don’t seem to play with much tenacity. Kelly always mentions playing with a “competitive edge” in the interviews but his teams rarely display that. Hope he can motivate them more, maybe let them play music in the locker room? Idk

Man I wish I watched our openers under Kelly and had this kind of optimism. You're a better man than me.

Yes, paying people removes all motivation. Good point.

FOH wit that scared mentality. We have constructed a team on paper that can play with anyone, anytime, anywhere. Clemson was 0-3 vs the SEC last year they have a lot of talent but the media is pumping them up like their 2024 ohio state. You mention you don't like the matchup but Clemson shouldnt either. I don't think their backend can hang with our wr room at all, Green at TE is also a matchup nightmare for their safeties and LB's. Their OL can be had

If we haven’t seen that “edge” yet chances are we prolly won’t see it.

I know yada yada yada, “O left the team with 37 scholarship players”. Kelly has been here 4 recruiting cycles and has had NIL money to fill the gaps.
Minus the OT win vs Bama he hasn’t done shite to make me thing he is the future or now for that matter.
His ability to pick and retain the right coaches has also been a huge issue and liability in our success also.

But, if they happen to get a victory in Clemson then things could be better than I expect.

Just not getting my hopes up.

We are this year what Ohio State was last year....and they lost 2 games...but won it all.

I think we win the opener in a close game, then drop 2 in SEC play. Finish 10-2 and get in the playoffs...we will see from there

I'm much more concerned about our defense than our offense. We haven't had a defense that meets LSU standards in many years. If we can't get off the field on 3rd downs, our offense won't matter.
