LA Riots have put an end to Newsom's attempt at a Bill "#metoo" Clinton triangulation strategy.
Running as a Liberal Democrat.
Suck It 2028!

All he had to do was be an adult about it and accept the help whether he wanted or not.
Now he sent the message to law enforcement agencies he does not have their back now or as POTUS.

First, his strong opposition to Trump's unsolicited deployment of federal troops was crucial. This wasn't about condoning violence, but about defending California's autonomy and preventing further escalation. The federal government unilaterally sending in military forces without the state's request is an unprecedented overreach that every state, red or blue, should be concerned about. Newsom is fighting to uphold constitutional principles and the proper chain of command, which is a sign of leadership, not incompetence.
Second, he has been crystal clear in condemning violence and criminal acts during the protests. He's called out the 'anarchists' and 'insurgent groups' for playing into Trump's hands and stated they need to be arrested. This shows he differentiates between peaceful protest (a fundamental right) and destructive behavior. His priority has been to keep both peaceful demonstrators and law enforcement safe, a balanced approach in a volatile situation.
Finally, attributing these 'riots' solely to Newsom's handling ignores the root cause: inflammatory federal actions that provoked these responses in the first place. Newsom has correctly identified that Trump's actions were designed to manufacture a crisis, and his response has been to de-escalate, protect state sovereignty, and maintain order through appropriate local channels, rather than allowing the situation to be further militarized for political theater.

Governor George Wallace tried to defy the feds also.

Nah, comparing Newsom to Wallace is a stretch. Wallace fought against civil rights; Newsom’s stance on sanctuary cities is about protecting residents and upholding state law, not dodging feds for show. He’s managed CA through wildfires, a pandemic, and riots with solid results—lowest violent crime since he took office, $6.4B for homelessness via Prop 1. That’s leadership, not grandstanding. Check the data before lumping him with history’s bad actors.

My goodness if this isn’t a troll, you have one of the most myopic viewpoints on any subject I think I have ever seen.
If not that then you are just a retard and not worth consideration on matters of seriousness or importance.

Nothing, absolutely nothing was done by Gavin to put this violence in check. What was Trump to do then, let California destroy itself because the state officials ran from their duty?

That’s off base. Newsom’s pushback on federal troops wasn’t about shirking duty, it was about respecting state rights and avoiding a military overreach that could’ve sparked worse chaos. He coordinated with local law enforcement to contain the riots to a few blocks, minimizing damage while upholding CA’s autonomy. Trump’s deployment wasn’t a fix; it was a power grab.

If Gavin was truly doing his due diligence as a governor this would never have become an issue in the first place. Since Gavin was playing the part of Nero and watching California burn; Trump (doing his sworn duty) was forced to act.

Your defense of Gavin is that he only allowed a few blocks of his city to be destroyed? Oh, that's fine then. I was thinking a governor's responsibility was to stop people from destroying places citizens live and work altogether.

Would be great if you could slither down from your all-knowing Seattle and get a firsthand feel for these so-called ;riots; as you say. Do they have a school or other indoctrination procedure towards being an out of touch idiot to live in STL/PNW?
