21 month old little girl dead
quote:
Detectives with the STPSO Major Crimes Unit have learned that Boatman had strapped the toddler in her car seat inside the vehicle after picking her up from a family member’s residence shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday. After strapping the toddler in her car seat, Boatman went back inside the residence and never returned to the vehicle. It was also learned that prior to Boatman arriving to pick up his daughter, he had consumed multiple alcoholic beverages.
“This is a devastating loss that no family ever wants to face,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “When a child is left in a vehicle, especially on a day when the heat index climbs over 100 degrees, the outcome can turn deadly in a matter of minutes. This case involved compromised judgment, and the result was heartbreaking.”

Joseph Boatman, 32, of Hammond was booked Sunday into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center after it was learned his 21-month-old daughter died after he left her buckled inside a car outside a Madisonville-area residence for more than nine hours.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence shortly before noon Sunday after a family member located the girl unresponsive inside the vehicle.

Leaving a kid in a car is inexcusable. You have to be drunk, high retarded or any combination of the three.
It's time these idiots stop being protected by "Oh it was an accident"

If he went back inside to drink with the relative that had the kid, that person should be in shite too.

There is a lot more to this God awful story than this inaccurate report.
2nd degree murder charge with more to follow.

And the family member in the house never thought “where’s the child?”???

who the frick picks up a toddler at 2:30am?

The report apparently derived from the accused's statement of what occurred.
He failed to mention taking the child MUCH earlier in the night, the hit and run he committed while he was out, returning to the neighborhood at 3:18 AM, and most likely many more items from his statement.

That's probably what he went back inside to do. Put the toddler in the car so it "wouldn't be exposed to the drug scene."
Drunk methhead logic

How do you know all of these hard facts? You're either EMS, police, or you were in the house. 3:18 is quite specific.

He's also a registered sex offender from a 2018 issue.
How he had custody of a 21 month old child is beyond me.
