Obviously Kade will be on the bump, but I am expecting a close game. If we are up by 1-3 runs in the late innings, is it a given that we will see Evans close it out to secure a spot in the winner bracket game 2? We haven't had to use this combination in a long time because Kade usually dominates.

The games in Omaha aren’t back to back (not until the loser’s bracket later in the week anyway). It’s all hands on deck for game 1 vs Arkansas. I wouldn’t even be surprised if Eyanson closed out game 1. But I don’t really expect him to. Just saying I wouldn’t be surprised.

I think Evans is choice 1 to close out the game on Saturday.

How do you know Kade will obviously be on the bump?

The same was said before Ant started the first game of the Regional vs Little Rock.

Jay will start who he thinks is his best chance to beat Arkansas, especially after Ant went 6 shutout innings vs Arkansas.

It's definitely Evans.

I am not sure what Oregon State, Coastal, Arizona, or Louisville are planning Sorry, couldn't resist.

I think Kade, but I don't know that it's a given; it could be Eyanson. It will be one of those two, though. Jay has stated in the past that Evans is his go-to in a tight game, but that was probably with 6-10 games to go in the regular season, so he may have a different outlook now.

I would be mystified if that happened. The only time he has done this was in the SEC tournament game 1 because he wanted 1 win there more than he wanted to advance.

3 runs or less you absolutely go Evans or Shores

4 or more id go Cowan/Rizy/Cooper Williams

C'mon just a quick google search to check your facts before posting. Saturday is the game. Not Friday.

Then we have off Sunday and will resume Monday win or lose Saturday night.

The best chance to win a natty is having Evans available to start game 3, but obviously you have to get there first.

It would be awfully tempting to give it to Shores with how he looked the other night. Williams and Cowan are going to have to get some big outs at some point as well. As always, I'd expect Jay to make those decisions based on matchup.

You have to go all out to get to 2-0. If we're up towards the end I fully expect to see Evans. Even if he goes 40 pitches he could still come back and start Wednesday. This elongated schedule screws starters but is awesome for bullpen guys.

0.0% chance, Jay might need medical attention if he decides this

You’re being downvoted because Evans is the presumed game 3 starter.

I think you try to avoid using him, but yes you do go to him if need be imo. Could still pitch in game 3 easily too.
