It's a truth on some days. And I think the Dems and media are woefully out of touch with most of America. They seem dumbfounded that having a secure border and deporting illegals is popular.

I think they read it well enough but the problem is humans have an extremely difficult time admitting they are wrong and taking the exact opposite stance they claimed moral superiority over. Their existence hinges on being right on these 80/20 issues and they just refuse to admit their moral compass was off.
The public wasn't as strongly against illegal immigration ten years ago so they left thought they could "guide" public sentiment like they think they can do with all social issues. With the aide of social media and the press. Their issue is the public has been heavily red pilled on both social media and the press and there has been a hard stop on this manipulation they wanted.
And now they are stuck with all of the thought leaders on the left having to make a hard decision. Do you admit you were wrong and that Trump is right? That most of the country agrees with Trump? This causes these people to be sick to their stomachs and to have an existential and "moral" crisis. NO. They are not going to back down to public opinion. They so much believe they are morally correct so screw the public.
