Think WV had something like 13-14 walks and 3-4 errors. Sloppy play and happy LSU took advantage. WV's offense was legit though vs some very strong Tiger pitching.

Anderson/Root is going to be a motha...

I think that’s the big takeaway from those 2 games. This team at times didn’t take advantage of opportunities like that. This weekend they did. Not only that, they did it a lot with 2 outs. Being clutch at this time of year usually leads to good things

WV is a team on the rise. Lost in regionals last year and Supers this year. Mistakes are made or earned. They will learn how to avoid them if that coach keeps them together.

Last weekend we stranded the bases loaded 3-4 times without scoring a run.

This weekend, we were 4-4 with 2 grand slams.

Nearly every single mistake WV made came back to bite them

They lost to UNC last year in the Supers. We were 3 outs away from hosting them last season.

I stand corrected. Point is they have a good thing going with Sabins. Maybe they should recruit more south LA boys to handle the heat.

In hindsight, LSU had by far the easiest pasty to Omaha.

WV was not good. Many won’t admit it, but they didn’t come to play other than a couple of spurts of hitting.

The regional turned out to be weak as well.

LSU hasn’t had to face a real test in a while.

I can't stand how many people can't accept things that go against a positive narrative.

How do you people function in real life by not addressing reality?

What I said doesn't change anything about LSU's chances going forward.

West Virginal walking 16 and hitting another 8 is off the charts bad. It just is. Their fielding was legit poor. It just was.

If this hurts your feelings, I'm sorry.

It's simply not true; that is all. Just because you think it doesn't make it true.

Sure.

Also true

That indicates they made mistakes in those games. But it does not mean

Sometimes, good teams flounder. Many teams, pretty much every team in the field this year (Arkansas probably has the fewest), have strengths and weaknesses. WVU is a team that hits and puts pressure on you from the plate. They are not a good fielding team, but they are adequate. One of their best pitchers struggled.

This is baseball, man. Things have gone right for LSU; WVU is a good team with holes that LSU took advantage of.

Maybe you should consider that someone thinks you are wrong and thinks your takes are usually better.

I know it feels like it, but LSU baseball is not real life for most of us. I function pretty well in real life, I also find I can enjoy the moment without trying to find every negative thing for at least 48 hours or so.

We may have had an easy regional and super, but we won them all convincingly.

I’d rather be where LSU is than Vandy, Texas, Auburn, Georgia, or North Carolina.

It’s not LSU’s fault DBU couldn’t beat Arkansas Little Rock or that Clemson couldn’t beat WVU.

Well, we lost a game in the regional pretty bad to a poor team, but other than that I agree.

100%

Of course not. It was a dream scenario. There's nothing wrong with getting lucky every now and then. God knows we sometimes get a poor draw. Hell, that's happening in Omaha with us opening with Arkansas.

They really played some shitty baseball, their pitching and defense was terrible. Number 2 should have his scholarship given back

There's nothing negative about acknowledging that West Virginia was a dream team to pair up with in for a Super Regional.

Enjoy the draw we got, because we are about to face the toughest draw in Omaha.

Can you imagine what this board would look like if LSU had walked 16 and hit 8 others in the Super Regional?

I have no idea why some people can't acknowledge something like that.

Was absolutely infuriating.

Saw it with live vs LR. And the announcers saying “this LR team just keeps coming at you” was aggravating. LSU was giving gifts. Thankfully it was 1 game instead of two.

Well I wouldn’t say by far, the way the tournament is set up, the hosts always have the easiest routes. So this really isn’t an issue of luck, it’s really about the regional hosts choking in their regional. The best teams we played, we beat them convincingly.

That's fair. It was a bit of hyperbole.

We could have had UTSA or Murray State.

West Virginia either didn't show up...or their pitching was actually really, really bad.

It happens on the road in postseason baseball. Same thing with DBU.
West Virginia is better than Miami as well.

I think it was a great move to push the players in toward the plate. They walked the bases loaded and curiel made them pay. I would also say that they saved their bullpen arms for game 2.
LSU had a bunch of unearned runs. West Virginia was top 20 era before the regionals according to Ben. They were a decent team, they won the big 12. But they were not good in the box. Other than at the plate.
