Asking here instead of the Travel board because of the focus on sites and settings for movies and TV shows, especially really old places.

TIA.

Hook and Ladder 8
14 N Moore St
New York, NY 10013

It’ll be decked out in Ghostbusters gear in Sunday since it’s “Ghostbusters Day” (June 8, 2025).

Fans will be there in full gear, an Ecto-1 will probably be there. I believe Jason Reitman is suppose to be there.

One day, I might go when my son is old enough and enjoys it like I do.

Take a pic in front of a Sbarro before you get a "New York slice"

Absolutely

Yes the pastrami sandwich is $30 .

Often touristy places don’t live up to the hype but this is one do the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. It was amazing. It’s worth the price and the for the experience

The Plaza Hotel.
When you walk in the lobby is down the hall, to the left.

I know you asked for M/TV, so I'm not really addressing your question, but musically there's Electric Lady Studios. It was built by Jimmi Hendrix and is still an active studio. I went because it's where KISS recorded some of there very earliest stuff but it's basically a who's who of legendary artists. Just going off the wiki page it includes:

Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, John Mayer, U2, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and more.

There are tours that specialize in this stuff. Do one of those.

Yes I kinda boxed myself in unintentionally. Happy to hear any suggestions, ideally somewhere you walk in and just feel like you’re in a cool old place.

I believe it was a Covid causality

I remember vividly , our first time in nyc when Phantom menace was coming out and then had so many set ups and toy sections for it back in ‘99

That gargantuan store was amazing in the mind of a 9 year old

Check and see if any shows are filming and you can be in the audience

We did that with Dave and Jimmy Fallon

It was really cool because we got to tour the building and set

941 West 60th. Jessica’s NYC apartment in Murder, She Wrote. This may be outdated info, but if you can get buzzed up and ask nicely the folks in apartment 4B might let you stick your head inside for a quick look around. Though the layout of the actual apartment differs significantly from the set.
