I thought two miracles had to be performed in order to be considered for canonization.
What are the two miracles here?

Specifically I do not know. However, I can tell you that this would never had reached this level had the diocese not documented some.

Those verified miracles need to come AFTER she is named a "Servant of God."

I will relay a personal story...I went and prayed at her grave recently this past January, as it is on a work route I frequently take. I had just read about her in another thread on this board and decided to go see for myself.

I'm not Catholic, but I am Christian and respect the sentiment behind her grave and what it means to so many people. On that first visit to her grave, wouldn't you know it, my visit happened to fall on her birthday, January 13. I visited her gravesite 1/13/25. I thought that was a nice little wink from the universe, as I had no clue it was on her bday. I didn't pray, but I did take a moment of silence and then went on my way to the house.

The next week I stopped by again. This time I prayed: for my family, for my wife, for my friends...I just asked God to protect those I love, and I even went as far as to say out loud, "I think we know I'm not Catholic, but I feel the Spirit moving here in this place, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to pray here, Amen."

Here's where it gets funny: one of the things I prayed for concerning my wife, was her womb, asking God to bless her womb. She has always been told that she would never get pregnant...lack of eggs being the main reason. Not to mention she is 41 and has never been pregnant. We had an OBGYN visit a couple weeks before Christmas 2024 and the doctor said, and I quote, "I'll never say never, because it is in God's hands, but you most likely will never get pregnant. Just live and enjoy your life!"

Fast forward to the week after I visited Charlene's gravesite, and I come home one day with my wife smiling a mile wide (and she had no idea I had stopped by to pray for her womb, fwiw).

She had recently been feeling funny, and almost as a joke, took a pregnancy test. When I got home from work, a positive pregnancy test was sitting on the bathroom sink when I walked in there... My wife is now about 6 months pregnant with a strong and healthy baby girl in her UTERUS ;) and we are expecting her to arrive late September.

Make of this story what you will, but I am a believer now in the Little Cajun Saint.. A Servant of God.

The Diocese of Lafayette needs to move grading to the 10 point scale like all the other fricking schools in the state before moving forward with this.

RC, you should reach out to the diocese and share your story. That is exactly the kind of thing that would help determine if she receives Sainthood from The Church.

You call it a wink from the universe but we like to call it a God wink in The Church.

Also congratulations to you and your wife!

I don’t see why they need all the red tape. God should just tell the pope who to nominate.

When you get a few minutes, you might want to do a bit of anatomy study.

That's what happens when they get pregnant via BJ and swallow

It was a general reference. Certainly not anything to be over-analyzed. Long story short...don't sweat the small stuff

Not mine, but it would help some friends of mine's kids.
