I got some egg noodles from a famous U.S. company which had over 10 ingredients on the label. Went down the Intl Food isle and found German egg noodles with only 4 ingredients.

Seriously, take a picture of each label and post them so we can see what the added ones are.
just curious

And that's just the ones they put on the label, nevermind the shite sprayed on crops and in soil before we ever harvest or what could be in our water.

Thank the lobbyists and corporate interest.
But also, we like cheap stuff in the US.
When we make the foods better and eliminate many ingredients, a lot of people are going to complain about their grocery bills increasing.

Contextual counterpoint: There was a time I worked for a German company and spent a lot of time there. American beer was generally shite at the time, and I loved me some Bitburger or local options there.
Learned about the Reinheitsgebot (“Purity Law”), which dictates that beer can only be made with 4 ingredients (water, barley, hops, and yeast). I knew that wasn’t the primary reason for the beer being better, but I respected it.
Flash forward 25 years, and I am comfortable saying the beer scene in the US is miles better than it was and what you get in Germany as they have maintained that tradition.
Now, I’m not saying that adding a bunch of crap makes stuff taste better, but rote adherence to limiting inputs does limit the options for enhancing flavor.

That is also the reason so many Europeans drink beer with shite mixed in it, like shandies. German beer is better than US lagers, but doesn't hold a candle to Belgium or the UK.

I get what you’re saying but, I like my beer to taste like beer, not pumpkin spice or some other stuff. Same for my coffee and iced tea.

I just downloaded the Yuka app on my phone. You scan labels and it tells you how good or shitty the food is. Not supported by Big Food, the Government or Big Pharma.....independent. It tells you why the food is good or bad.

You have to include more ingredients on the list in the US than in Europe
Every single little chemical has to be listed here

Yeah but Europeans cant make a "non-chloric, silicon-based kitchen lubricant" like this

Living over there for four years led me to prefer UK beer over the German stuff.

Same, but my comments are aimed at the IPA’s, porters, stouts, pilsners, and other traditional brews that have come on the scene.
IPA’s have become cliche, but there are some really good ones, and same with the other varieties.

There's no BAD beer in Germany, but there's no GREAT beer really there either.
I think the Germans like it that way. It's pretty much considered a basic commodity for them.
The additional ingredients you will see in things like pasta made in the US likelyhas to do with "enriching" stuff like flour, which the USDA has mandated for a long time.

I don’t know why Czech beer is amazing, but it is.
