I do think it is worse now, although there is one caveat that kind of gets ignored when people talk about this, which is, when I was a kid, we did duck and cover drills. So overriding all of this was the threat of nuclear annihilation.

Law firms and universities can be as woke as they want, Free Country. But you aren't going to get federal money. Make your own way with your DEI hires. The taxpayer isn't going to fund you anymore unless you go to merit-based hiring/admissions. That's not McCarthyism.

He is fully qualified to comment on the pervasiveness of fear from McCarthyism in the 1950’s to fear of the MAGA administration now. Fully qualified.
