Three things destroying society that are on display every day in my social feed

1. Tribalism
This one is easy and doesn't need to be discussed as much, but we have to get away from complete tribalism. Racial and political tribalism, and looking at everything through the lens of those Worldviews is destroying society. The saddest videos on the internet are the ones where they find some uneducated progressive, willing to do anything for their cause, demeaning quotes or policies that are presented as Trump/MAGA when they are Democrats.
2. The Elimination of Shame
I watched a video of a guy showing how to steal from Wal Mart via the self checkout. He was proud of it. Welfare used to be a shameful thing, now people celebrate it. The LGBT movement is being propped up because there is no shame in one's sexual deviance. There is a video of a girl from Mississippi State bragging about doing OnlyFans. And I have a family member, who is 30 years old and will not work and is proud of it. Calls everyone suckers for going into a job every day.
3. Extended Adolescence
This is the one that doesn't get as much attention. There was a video of grown men fighting over Pokemon cards the other day. Grown men playing video games 12+ hours a day. Grown women acting like spoiled teenagers when they get pulled over.

I really don't understand this. I played a few pinball and arcade video games in the early 80's. I think that was the last time. I can't even imagine. It's like still playing with Legos into your 40's or 50's... and some actually still do that as well.

You can be an adult and have a healthy relationship with video games. Heaven forbid men have an outlet for the stresses in their lives.

What's wrong with this? Are adults only allowed to be grumpy and go to work?
I helped my daughter build lego flowers last weekend and it was surprisingly therapeutic.

quote:This one drives me up the fricking wall. People calling 21-22 year olds “kids” and treating them as such. They aren’t kids. They are grown arse adults who can serve in the military, vote, buy property, pay taxes, and everything else. People treat them like they are 13-14 years old
3. Extended Adolescence

Everything you stated as destroying society is correct, but it doesn’t get to the root issue.
Moral decay is the leading factor in all the things you listed and more.

Being online for 12+ hours playing games is not healthy.

I'm not saying don't have an outlet. I'm saying: don't have an infantile outlet.
If this is what you want to do, that's on you.
I just can't comprehend it.

Its funny that is their answer to TDS. They get all googly when they say it thinking it pisses off MAGA. Kind of like being called a cracker for being white.

Yeah they just look stupid just like they thought listless vessel was the greatest insult

Are you harassing me?
When you made that ridiculous assertion on the SEC rant that I was harassing you was not actually this where you can’t get me off your mind? In such a mental state, it’s not unusual to claim to be a victim.
Anyway, always on your mind isn’t good for your mental well being. There’s resources out there available to you. I hope you seek them out and receive the help you need.
I have told you over and over I have no problem completely ignoring you. I have suggested for your own mental well being to it may be better for your health to ignore me.
Feel free to try that again if you think it will help you heal.
If not, I’ll be happy to add to your negative mental health so that you cry about being harassed on the SEC rant again.

The point OP made regarded people who do not have a healthy relationship with video games. A couple hours on the weekend is fine. Twelve hours a day is not fine.

Some of the best moments I had with my kids was after buying about 70 pounds of legos off of ebay for $25, then getting on the site with all of the information around what each block goes with, etc..
We would build shite for hours. Even used our Aspy ability to separate them all by piece/function into separate drawers for later building. That process alone took us a few days.

I wouldn’t call this “extended adolescence”. This is just being a “dad”. Like pitch and catch or shooting hoops in the driveway.
