Shooter was attempting to kill the congregation during their live stream

BOSSIER CITY, La. — On Sunday, June 1, 2025 a potentially dangerous situation was swiftly contained at Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier City, where quick action by church security may have prevented a mass shooting.

According to witnesses, an unidentified man entered the church’s live-streaming area during the morning service and placed a loaded firearm on the ground. The man reportedly began turning a camera toward the congregation when security personnel intervened.

Bossier City Police arrived shortly after and took the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Christopher Strong, into custody.

Love Shreveport-Bossier confirmed the witness account with a verified source from the Bossier City Police Department.

Strong was booked into the Bossier City Jail on charges of illegally carrying a weapon, simple battery, and terrorizing.

He is expected to be transferred to the Bossier Maximum Facility for processing.

No injuries were reported. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.

Same. I’ve sat there planning out what I would do 100 times.

Sad that we’ve reached this point.

That would have been wild if he would have been able to do it. I am just glad they were able to stop it in time.

One of the few places I go that I legit have thoughts of a possible attack happening

Unfortunately I’m a felon in a past life so can’t own a gun. But if I did…. Mass would be the top place I’d adhere to the ‘would rather get caught with it then without it’

I have always done that. I don’t know if it’s ex military or just part of being a man.

Church is the one place I never attend unarmed. It's such a vulnerable environment. I hope I'm one of many in there at any given time. I assume I am.

Going to be a big problem when there are multiple shooters and not this lone wolf stuff.

After the TX church shooting, you'd have to be a fool not to pack in church.

I think most churches have someone on security. We have a couple of Sheriff's deputy's that are present. They park their cruisers near the door, I guess as a reminder.

That's it? Hell he probably wont even get any jail time and will be able to try this again.

pretty sure my church has a guy that carries. always sits in the back pew, wears gun related shirts and tactical pants, and wears his sunglasses at 8am in church.

Armed security also helps but a lot of smaller churches don’t have that. I told my buddy he should be carrying for sure at his church because they don’t have security.

Agreed I don’t know what kind of penalty “terrorizing” carries but attempted mass shootings should have their own law with severe punishment. Just because he didn’t succeed shouldn’t mean that he basically gets away with it.

We have an armed police officer who is a member sitting in the back pew every service, and our doors are locked once the services begin
