5 episode mini series. I watched it with my wife and I shockingly loved it. Well written story that had multiple characters with depth and solid arcs.
Would recommend.

The 90’s era movie with Elle Macpherson, Portia de Rossi, and Hugh Grant isn’t very good, but the women are hot, especially Elle.

im wondering if its good. RT has mixed reviews and only 66% from fans. thats pretty weak

I thought is was great. The characters all had depth. You like, hate, feel bad for, etc all of them at different points in the series.
There is also the illusion of mystical powers without it being overblown.
The ending may not have been the most intricate but it fit with the theming of the whole series.

Just finished watching this. I liked it overall. Devon was insufferable so was Simone. The only character I actually liked was Michaela. For all she was she seemed the most genuine.

Spoilers:
They both had their demons but I liked their archs. At first Devon comes off as a self destructing drunk that hates that her sister found a better place in the world but by the end you see her as the loving care giver that she truly is. While Simone comes off as the put together girl that made out of the abuse cycle and was doing great for herself but by the end you see that she is a manipulative she devil that will do anything to get ahead.
Michaela also had a great arch. At first she comes off as the possible supernatural, murderous cult leader but by the end you see that she is a decent person that is just worried that her husband will replace her. Which she turns out to be correct about.
Even the husband had a great arch. He was the most likeable guy the entire time and then you find out that he's kind of POS that ditches his wives when they no longer serve him and a better option comes along.

I had no intention of watching this, but the endorsements in this thread are enough for me to give it a shot.

Whats your opinion?

We binged and don't regret it. The tone shifts back and forth a bit and that gets distracting at times. Otherwise it's good. Great cast and solid premise.

Watched it all last night. The early Devin & Simone bickering was a bit tedious but that dynamic changed before too long. The ending wasn't my favorite but all in all it was entertaining and worth watching. Not your typical plot or character development. The Jose character was funny.

wife and I finished it yesterday.
As mentioned before, the characters had some ups and downs. They went from appearing as a good person to appearing as a bad person and vice versa.
Ultimately Michaela didn't appear as evil as she originally seemed. She did show kindness to Simone's dad when she didn't have to. She seemed to genuinely be hurt when her husband put the moves on Simone, like he took that relationship away from her. Felt bad for her in the end. She couldn't have children and that pained her.
Kevin Bacon turned out to be a piece of crap. Originally, he came across as a good guy but ultimately, he just trades in women when better versions come along.
Felt bad for Devon at the end. She ended up in just about the same spot as she began. Going back home to tend with her ailing father by herself. She had a decent guy who was genuinely interested in her, but she couldn't devote any time to that relationship. However, it did feel a little two-faced when she called out Simone for stealing Michaela's husband when she was sleeping with a married man for years.
Simone is a psychopath. I know she had bad things happen to her but her sister gave up her future to help her get into Yale. It's not like she was living on the streets. She attended and graduated from Yale.
A few questions:
How will Kevin Bacon's children react to his new relationship with Simone?
Why can't Michaela just get another pic from the vanity fair photographer? Make a deal that he will get some of her divorce settlement if he gives her another pic. Also, why would she hide it in a safe in the house that the husband has access to?

my guess is that they will try to run with a narrative of Michaela was evil and ruined our family and now she is gone. i can't make it right with your mom but I now have a new wife thats not going to try to be your mom.
Will it work? Who knows?

We don't know that she won't do that but also Kevin Bacon is loaded, he can just pay off the photographer without the risk of the settlement never coming through.

In the last couple of weeks we have watched Sirens and Your Friends and Neighbors.
Both have been solid, entertaining, and just the right length.
Not too serious, but tied up all loose ends nicely.
Great entertainment for us middle age suburban white folk

This show was great. Truly elite stuff.
ETA: this comes out 10 years ago and Daddario is a lock for the older sister.
