I have read that Roux 61 on Bluebonnet closed its doors abruptly, and that their employees did not receive any kind of advance notification.

I rarely went, but when I did, I found they had the best Asian glazed chicken wings, and their steak bites used to be pretty good as well.

Can anyone else confirm?

This is pretty much how every restaurant ever has closed.

Same. But their peacemaker poboy was actually really good. They did an excellent job of frying the oysters every time I had it.

Shocked they made it as long as they did. It’s been a rumor for about 2 years that they were going to close.

Why? It always seemed pretty crowded to me.

it was but the owners/managers did not know how to manage money

My husband had a guy leave to go work there because they paid $2 an hour more, in two weeks the guy asked my husband for his old job back

At least this may occur:

This is true. I have friends who work here. Word traveled to other workers in other restaurants around town then they caught wind of it Saturday morning. They did not notify the employees they would be out of jobs after Saturday night.

Good luck with future business. Not sure who would go to work for an owner like this.

I surely wouldn’t. I’ve heard horrible things about the owners though.

Comments on Facebook are fantastic

I can’t blame the owners for quitting even if business was going well

That place will always be Mulates to me. Maybe it’s nostalgia but the zydeco band was a memorable thing for me as a kid. Boutins and Roux 61 just seemed like cheap replacements

Why? Per the article, business was good but he got a high real estate offer and is now planning another location in BR.

How do you think a restaurant should close? Give the employees 2 weeks advanced notice so they can all jump ship and find new jobs leaving the restaurant inoperable for 2 weeks?
