I’m not sure what Johnson can do to fix it but something has to change. We’ve overcome tonight but he’s killed every rally we’ve had. Should not be in the 2 hole

How much should we mess with lineup after scoring 9 runs tonight and 7 yesterday to start the tourney?

Even when Jones is on it doesn’t make sense with him in the 2 hole in my opinion. Move up Frey and Brown and let Jones hopefully hit bombs behind them.

I'd prefer he not be slumping right now.

On the other hand, he's been a very good hitter this year, so he's due to break out of it. And if he gets hot we're in tremendous shape, because the starting pitchers are rolling and a lot of the other bats are cranking up. Remember, we just scored 12 on a good team without him.

He just launched a couple against South Carolina. He’ll be fine. Expect good things from him tonight and going forward. He’s not far off on his swings and isn’t forcing it. Working the count full last night after going down 0-2 shows that.

So, Mr. Thread Counter....do you suggest a person go through pages of threads before submitting an opinion of their own just to satisfy you and others like you? Move on, my friend!

Our 2 best pitchers at limiting opponents runs have already pitched.

It’s baseball. We could need more runs. Optimize every opportunity.

If I were counting, I’d know exactly the number. I was just making a statement. Tonight there were at least 4 on the first page.
Sincerely,
Mr. Thread Counter

I'm not changing a damn thing. Jones is one of the best hitters on the team. I'm not bailing on him now.

He really is missing some cookies and hangers - that one at bat he had about 4 meatballs and he either fouled off or missed all of them.

Definitely a slump, and when you walk Curiel to get to Jones, oh man….but hope that gives pitchers a false sense, and Jones flips bad into early season form, like soon…

Yep. It’s like golf with the shanks. It takes awhile to get over.
